What Price Glory replica A-2 review

Thought I'd chime in here. WPG's A-2s range from surprisingly good to ho-hum if you're talking nearness to an original 30s/40s contract. From best to worst they are: - The "pre-production" model released in exceedingly small numbers in early 2014 which was far better made. - The 1st batch...

Freewheelers vs. The Real McCoys vs. Vanson Cross Zip Jackets

I haven't been on the Lounge for years but came on here today as my little brother-in-law is after a "vintage" style jacket to wear whilst riding and (seeing as he's in his 20s) to impress the girls. I hang around on VLJ but know that this kind of thing is a TFL speciality so hence I came on...

Preview: Buzz Rickson's Space Program L-2B

Charles, I felt compelled to post here as much of what you wrote above is dubious. Let’s start with some facts: Firstly, that “Blazing Red” MA-1 which in your own marketing blurb from your own site states, “the result being a Blazing-Red MA-1 Jacket that made their elite test pilots stand out...

    Himel Bros. Grizzly Jacket Review

Great review and thanks for posting. TBH like PN the Grizzly is not my thing but it's nice to see a video review of one. I'm a bit like some of the other members here, when you start getting into which maker is the best and who does the best and with the best, and what the best leather is, then...

Star Sportswear A-2 Project (Made By Greatest Generation Clothing Co.)

Haha! The old watch the front gate like a hawk routine. The slightest noise and you burst out of a chair, pushing women and children out of the way only to discover it's the next door neighbour arriving home. I've lost count of how many times I've done that!

BATTLE OF BRITAIN (1940) - Respecting THE FEW.

I feel compelled to post this here. On the 25th June this year Percival Beake died, one of The Few at the age of 99. I never met Percy but corresponded with him as one of my family flew with him during the Battle of Britain with 64 Sqn. He was such an absolute gentleman, a joy to correspond...

That looks seriously nice Technonut. Looking forward to the fit pics when you get it - bet you can't wait.

Before getting an Aero Board Racer - things to consider.

How long has Vicenza hide been around? The one thing which I do wonder about with some of these newer "all the rage" hides is if they are tanned to age quickly. The kind of wear you show in that jacket Nick should be at least a decade (if not more) of hard wear and that's wearing nothing else...

    "Civilian" B-10 Jacket by Rumble59

I had a bright idea that they might be guitar chords but who knows?

how aged Schott horsehide really looks when aged.

Meh. That's OK but nothing comes close to my eyes as properly worn in Horween CXL FQHH. As always it's a case of each to their own, but to my eyes, really, properly worn and abused CXL FQHH would eat that for breakfast in the looks department. But what we like is always subjective isn't it ;)

Time to Buy Some Jackets (or Gold)

I bought some Harris tweed trousers from Aero last week, I should have bloody waited until after the jolly referendum ;) Seriously though, I'm a man after my old Dad who always said that there were two things which were banned from discussion in his officers' mess, one was religion, the other...

To treat or not to treat?

Depends on the quality of sueding Seb. Some look terrible with even the slightest wear with severe wearing off and becoming exceptionally shiny. Mine one was great and I've seen plenty of others. You can see great suede vintage jackets and crap ones. Same with suede shoes. I currently have a...

    The Antipodean thread

I'd completely forgotten about this thread! Well done for putting life back into it. As Wes has mentioned we now live in northern Norway since leaving Melbourne in late 2014. And Tuppence, it depends on the day here in summer, if you're lucky it can even reach 30, rare but not unknown, but...

Sold! Hitler memorabilia goes to Argentine buyer

I remember when we lived in Santiago, Chile being at our local which was the terrace bar for a hotel and having a drink in the late afternoon on a very hot summer's day. A family came in, mum, dad, a son and daughter, all blonde haired and blue eyed and speaking German, they were very haughty...

    Aero halfbelt 11 years on

All good with us Wes, kids are at kindy together and getting bigger all the time. Although I do miss good Vietnamese food, yum cha, sausage rolls, but definitely not those 40+ degree summer days in good old Melbourne town ;)

To treat or not to treat?

Dave, I had a brown suede jacket at uni (all the rage there in the early 90s) and being a dodgy student wore the hell out of the thing, to gigs, to the pub, slept in it on sofas round at mates' digs, if memory serves the poor old thing was even worn during an impromptu game of watermelon rugby...

A2 jacket fit - honest opinions requested

I'm with Butte, that GW after the HW treatment not only looks good but looks comfortable without being baggy. If it was me, I'd be just wearing and enjoying it from here on in.

BK Durable "The Wild One" One Star Double Rider

I know others will disagree here but I personally think the price is bonkers. It's crazy just how much the price that some vendors think they can charge has shot up over the 10 years I've been a member here and been interested in jackets.
