Fit Pic Evaluation Help - New Half Belt

The fit is great and the HB and pockets wouldn't bother me. The placement of the HB and pockets almost looks like the jacket was initially sized much shorter and they just added length at the bottom leading to the high HB and pockets.

    New jacket issues

Here are some better pics showing fit, I tucked the shirt in so the belt line is visible, pardon the mini gut, it's winter, this will be gone by late spring if I can stay healthy enough to run consistently. We also just moved into this old victorian in August so other than paint I haven't...

    New jacket issues

First world problems no doubt... I'm wearing the jacket and putting the work in. I guess my real issue is, I feel like even if I do "break it in" it's still going to be super uncomfortable and stiff, and that's after dedicating years to it. May just be easier to get a softer more malleable...

    New jacket issues

Yeah I'm pretty screwed as I love the cordovan half belts I see posted here. But that only comes in Aero CXL FQHH or Heavy Steer. If this jacket breaks in OK by mid-April I'll pull the trigger over the summer on the Aero HB in cordovan.

    New jacket issues

It's early March here in New York so I probably have another six weeks of jacket weather (over 65 I don't wear a jacket). I'll give the jacket until then to see if it's a bit more comfortable, if it's still stiff as a board I'll put it on eBay and buy an Aero halfbelt in something a little less...

    New jacket issues

I do ride motorcycles and owned a Vanson Model B, it was incredibly tough, I never actually did break it in. Back then I was lifting weights, and now I'm running marathons so I sold it, I think it was a 46 then, now I wear a 40. I didn't so much mind its stiffness, I only wore it while riding...

    New jacket issues

These are the only pics I have, I've posted them here before when I first got the jacket asking about fit. I think the fit is good, it's just the Horween FQHH is ridiculously tough, I imagine it would make a fantastic briefcase. As for sleeping on it and stuff I don't want to put in creases...

    New jacket issues

I like my new FQHH jacket, looks great but it's incredibly uncomfortable and stiff. I just can't bring myself to douse it in water and smash it around and stuff. I've worn the jacket everyday and the thing has not softened even a hair. It's literally like wearing a straight jacket. I imagine...

Block-Bilt: Website link-Never seen these jackets. Anyone?

I like that half belt, but £800 is A LOT of money, and I would stick with the sure things like Aero for that price. I wish I could find a decent off the rack half-belt for $400 or so, if that was the price I would definitely take a flyer on it. As for the SB/AL connection, since SB owns...

    Rjl Ltd

I got a great jacket from drifterproductions (rjl-ltd), his eBay reputation was excellent with thousands of sales, if he were shifty or unscrupulous he wouldn't have thousands of positive transactions and no negative ones. He shipped very quickly and the item was 100% as described and a great...

    Help Finding a Cafe Racer

If better hide, construction, hardware and linings don't make a better jacket what does? Schott makes a fine jacket, but having owned Schott and now an AL (may as well be an Aero) I find the AL a much better jacket. Aesthetics are subjective, but craftsmanship and materials aren't, and Schott...

    Help Finding a Cafe Racer

I think Schott makes a very, very good jacket, better than the vast majority of leather jackets you find people wearing, but having owned three Schott's and now, well an Alexander Leathers jacket there's no comparison, the AL is just a much better put together jacket than the Schott. Schott...

    Help Finding a Cafe Racer

I wouldn't go as far as to call Schott a fashion brand at this point. They're no Aero in terms of quality and the stoutness of their jackets but they're not Michael Kohrs or Calvin Klein either. The latter use very thin cheap leather and the quality of construction is poor. Schott still uses...

New Aero 1930's HB Cordovan FQHH and Alpaca

I thought they made them waist length for sitting? Sitting in a long leather jacket, especially a thick horsehide one can be very uncomfortable. Same rationale why motorcycle jackets are waist length, you can't sit on a bike if the jacket is long, it will ride up and push into your throat...

    Vanson in San Fransisco

Vanson makes some awesome jackets, my competition weight Model B was the best riding jacket I've ever owned. I rode it for years and it still wasn't broken in, the thing was a tank. I lost a ton of weight so sold it but I'll own another one someday.

New Aero 1930's HB Cordovan FQHH and Alpaca

Nice jacket, it's basically the exact same jacket I've been looking for on the classifieds and eBay for a while now. Does this model typically wear longer than the Highwayman? It's tough to tell from the pictures, the front looks a hair longer, the back about the same.

    Help Finding a Cafe Racer

I like the Langlitz story a lot better than their designs, honestly they do nothing for me at all. It all looks so dated, and not in a good way. I guess the Crescent, their version of the CR is OK, but the rest of the lineup just gives me a bad 80's vibe.

    Help Finding a Cafe Racer

I think the problem with the cafe racer is we all think we're going to look like this guy: But we get the jacket and reality is, we're not David Beckham lol... With a Cafe Racer there is a certain body type that is really a requirement to be able to pull it off, long and lean. Short and...

    What would you do . . . .

As a recovering WIS I know OCD with watches, now I don't obsess over them but I'm not beyond receiving fit advice. On another message board a guy with a 6.25 inch wrist posts a picture of a 45mm Planet Ocean on his wrist and asks if it's too big. I will tell him it is way too big for him, the...

White / Ivory Leather Making a Comeback?

Not a fan myself, I agree with other posters, no chance I could any of these jackets off.
