Hi, If I put it up on ebay, I'm going to ask $350, the extra $50 is to pay for ebay fees. I can do that as a buy-it-now and give you an email minutes before. Or if you want to buy it here, directly from me, I won't put it up on it ebay, and I'll do $300 on it. Your choice. (And shipping will an...
Yes. I put the jacket on yesterday morning to go have coffee at my favorite cafe, and I looked in the mirror and thought "Honestly, this jacket has never really fit me quite right. Maybe it's time I send it to a new home..."
Cheers,
Michael
Seems like the going price is about $350 for Herms Leather Togs jackets and that's what I was going to put it up on ebay for...but I can do $300 for you if you want it.
BTW I just pulled my Herms out of the closet a few days ago and tried it on. It breaks my heart, but I've decided my Herms is just the wrong size for me, so I'll likely be selling it up on ebay. Let me know if you're interested I'll give you first look. Cheers, Michael
Hi Shian, I really don't know much about the Herms Leather Togs company. I can only say that the jackets are very well made, the leather is thick and the details are well thought out. It's very unusual design with the epaulets and striking red lining. And I love the label!
Just picked up this old pawn Navajo ring- possibly Kingman mine turquoise, from the fifties. Weighs in at approx 21 grams. No markings. Very solid, old silver, old patina.
Yes- as Ton said earlier, it definitely looks like a Kehoe (St. Claire, Michigan) design based on the double snap neck tab, ring pulls, full action back and the zippers on top of the sleeves. The Swift zipper is unusual but not unlikely. There's a lot to like about Kehoe jackets- the fit is...
I found a place down in L.A. that charged me $85- which was a bargain since there was no lining in the jacket, and they had to make a pattern from scratch. All other estimates were about $250 +.
I found that it's a big savings in price if there's a lining already in the jacket.
Cheers!
Did you see the Seal Brown Sheene in size 42 on ebay?

I've had both the unlined and the lined waxed trucker in the earlier style. Very striking, and well made. But unfortunately for me, the arms were just a tad too short. If they would do a long version, I'd be all over it.
Also, the collar on the cafe racer looks very different than the ones found on the Langlitz jackets. Typically the Langlitz collars have two snaps, and less of a tab.
Very unique- with that cross zip front it's similar to the Langlitz Cascade...with a Columbia back. But there are some differences- never seen Langlitz put a tag and loop near the top of the neck. And it doesn't look like a Langlitz lining. I'm liking that minimalist one pocket front. I just...
So sorry to read this unfortunate news. I saw it posted on their website last night.
Alan & JL are the some of nicest and most accommodating people I've worked with in the leather jacket making business.
Wishing them a speedy recovery and hoping they'll re-open soon!
Lately, I've had a sweet spot for Type 3 (Trucker) jackets in leather and suede. They just don't seem to get as much play as the half-belts, military, or motorcycle jackets on this forum, but they're really just as much of a timeless classic. And there are so many interesting variations.
Maybe...
