I just got this vintage Levis suede trucker, San Francisco label, probably 70’s, super supple, and the suede is in gorgeous immaculate condition.
Unfortunately, just a bit big for me, so I’ll probably put it up in the classifieds. If someone here is interested pm me and we’ll work...
Sure, 5k may seem like a substantial bit of green for a collection of quality leather jackets. But look at it this way- as far as collecting goes, it could be much, much more worse...say if you were collecting post war art, vintage cars, Italian motorcycles, Rolexes and Pateks, horses or yachts...
Pros- I’m liking the spread collar, the offset zip design, and the initial simplicity of the cut. It takes a lot of guts to make a simple jacket without a lot of front embellishments.
Cons- I’m not liking the seams bisecting the front pockets, don’t like the back angled shoulder seams at all...
You might be better off going with a custom order. From experience, I've found it's rare, if not impossible, to find a vintage jacket with longer sleeves. Especially in Half-belts, Perfectos, and...Type 3/Truckers.

I totally agree with Monitor on this one. Send it back...you won't regret it for a moment. I also tried on the same Levis Trucker in Buffalo (made in India) at the Levis retail store last Spring. They were offering them at a substantial discount, so I took one home. And a day later I returned...
Yes, that one caught my eye too! But I'm not wild about unlined jackets. And a 23.5 inch back is a bit too short for me...
Sigh. At this point, I'm almost thankful for that one thing or another that keeps me from pulling the trigger.
Here's a vintage brown Suede Trucker by Schott that I picked up a while ago. Possibly from the 70's or 60's? I was looking for something similar in texture, color & cut to the jacket worn by John Lennon on Rubber Soul...or at least inspired by it. The brown suede color is actually darker in real...
