These guys look certainly older than students in their early twenties.
BTW, how did they keep those fuzzy white trousers clean? There was no dry cleaning yet, I believe?
The pics show how thin and supple the leather was compared to the heavy stuff used now by many manufacturers. That's why I like goat so much. It is supple, comfy and still hard wearing.
I wore them all winter. The seat turned out a bit baggy, but it gives them a kind of shoddy workwear look. I think they look great worn with a grey cardigan under a stroller, boots, heavy belt, shirt and tie or neckerchief and a french eight dart cap.
Except, if you don't have a clue about tailoring a pattern would help a lot to set the tailor on the right track if you want to bespeak something in a style out of the tailor's usual expertise. ;)
Funny how different individual perceptions can be. I don't find it ostentatious at all. I didn't need a second short leather jacket, but the breast pocket sold it to me.
70s? Not really. :D
I do have to say, though, if I had known that they would have a brown (not seal or russet) goatskin a few weeks later I would have chosen that. I also wish my jacket had the slightly higher button stance like the goat version on Aero's website.
