Or even just give the teeth of the zip a good rub with a pencil. The graphite will lubricate the teeth.
What I've found with my Aero jackets is that the side of the zipper block can drag on the welt covering the zip, the more use the jacket gets the more the welt eases off a little.
Quote from an e-mail....
Anything Horween is around a 6 month wait or longer at the moment unfortunately, CXFQHH has been coming in a little quicker than the Steerhide but we’ve don’t have any idea of timeline for CXSH at the moment unfortunately.
There is an approximate wait of 6 months+ for Horween deliveries (as mentioned in the OP) so I'll check the weights with them and if they roughly the same I'll take either. I'll just cough a deposit up and hopefully I'll have one for next Winter
I could be Mr Impatient and go for a more easily...
Is there an end to this slope?
Started at the top of the slope with the Sheene and the Windward, thought 2 jackets of different styles would be ideal......and then came the idea of a MC jacket so ended up with a mongrel of sorts, a J-106 front with a KOTR back. Ooops.
So ended up with 2 in...
Went for the RM one in the end.
Reason being I'm quite picky on fit and at least the RM,if not ok, will only need to go back to London as opposed to the US.
Got a mail back from BR with details requested and price however, add in postage, import charges and VAT and it's about the same cost as...
I had the same issue with an Aero Sheene which, in reality is a Cafe Racer with a collar.
The chest and shoulders fit perfectly however, the hem was way to large. I could wear it and had some great comments on it. Unfortunately, probably like yourself, I was very conscious of the hem width...
Bought myself an ATF Tanker jacket around 18 months ago, it's great for just knocking about, wearing to go to the shop or the gym etc but, with me being a picky old geezer, not up to scratch quality wise to wear when going out to town for example.
So looking at maybe buying a higher end...
OP, few pics of the fit of a J-106 here.....https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/the-%E2%80%98mongrel%E2%80%99-aero.106144/
This was just out of the box and although the jacket has a KOTR back, the fit characteristics are of a J-106,
I'm a 43" chest and a 33" waist at the navel. The jacket...
Definitely a Sheene,
As @MrProper said, pocket configuration can be changed at time of ordering. The Sheene is a Cafe Racer (which I believe is a slimmer cut than a Seven) with either a Highwayman collar or an August collar which is smaller.
Thought this warranted a thread of its own even though the pics are posted where I was asking advice re leather choice. Not an original idea I know but hey ho
A J-106 with a KOTR back in black Badalassi. Couple of anomalies from the order, zips on back of sleeves as opposed to the top ( no...
A couple of anomalies from the order but the jacket (in my eyes) is stunning.
Zips should have been on top of the sleeves but can easily live with then where they are, studs should have been brass. but can easily be changed.
Off up to Aero Monday with my Sheene to have a couple of inches taken...
