    New highwayman

On my oilpull, the label inside says, "Genuine Front Quarter Horse" and the weight/feel of the jacket certainly feels that way. Oldcrow, my GW A2 was very short and I remember thinking the very first time I put it on that the length was not completely on. However, I really liked the jacket...

    New highwayman

Funny, I recently got a Stuart in FQHH oil pull and I find it to be about the same thickness as my other FQHH jacket. Also my oil pull is super soft and developing creasing right away. It took my other FQHH jackets a year to start to feel this soft.

Selvedge Jeans - looking for suggestions

Bleeding depends on the brand, wash, etc.. My Ironhearts bled like a stuck pig. Got blue on everything. I usually go for a one wash now to decrease the denim bleeding. Scott, go to Selfedge. They may not have what you are looking for, but they have a big selection, knowledgable, and you'll be...

Returning Aero to Scotland...refund of "brokerage fees"?

My last coat which needed changing, Aero did not cover the shipping cost. UPS wanted some insane amount (I think 200 bucks), so I sent it via USPS in one of their one cost shipping boxes- think it was like 60 bucks. When Aero shipped it back, UPS charged me again for the duty/service charge...

My new Aero A2-38-1711-P in FQHH

Cole, I hope that the tapering works. However from my experience, I think it's a bit of a challenge getting things right after it's made. My Cheyenne was huge, so Aero tried to taper it in. It fit better in the body, but the shoulders/arm holes got screwed up in the process. I tried to love it...

What Jacket are you wearing 'this month?'

You guys ever find that the IHs bleed too much? My car seats have a bluish tinge to them and some light shirts now have a indigo ring ;) It doesn't seem constant either. Sometimes they seem to quit bleeding so much and then other days there's indigo all over my hands.

What Jacket are you wearing 'this month?'

LOL Butte, it does put you in a different mind set. I find that I wash all my shirts/pants less now. I don't go a year with the denim, probably more like 4 months, but I don't have the great fading/contrast that Griff does. Butte, I think you should buy a pair and see what you think! You'll...

What Jacket are you wearing 'this month?'

It's totally different than a modern day Levi's. It's raw, selvedge denim. You don't have to be careful washing them, but it's about achieving a desired effect. I think the Ironhearts are 350/pair now.

What Jacket are you wearing 'this month?'

I still like my 634S Ironhearts, but I actually found the cut a little unflattering with the legs a bit "stove pipe" like and the denim a bit too heavy for everyday wear. I've gone to some slimmer cut jeans- Sugarcane fitted straight and Jeanshop slim straight- as my go to jeans. What also...

Question of those that own Aero jackets...

I like them for the fit, but one of my cars has deep bucket seats and the side buckles dig into the seat leather and causes some scuffs.

Where can I get cheap, thin, dry vintage jeans?

Two jeans I have which have a nice midrise cut are the jeanshop rocker http://worldjeanshop.com/indigo-rocker/ and the fitted straight by Sugarcane. Both can be had in dry selvedge or one wash. In terms of fit, both are a slimmer/more fitted in the leg than the Ironheart 634S. Not skinny, but...

    Goodwear / Aero

For sure all good advice. Personally, I didn't really care for historical accuracy. I was looking (like you) for a well made jacket, but one that fit my idea of an A2. John was great about recommending contract types, leather, sizing, etc. Although the wait was long, it was well worth it...

Crazy prices at BUZZ RICKSON'S EUROPE (AKA Eastman leather company)

Vintagetrends.com has a great selection. Just find a coat and then have Gary the owner to take a look at it and make sure there are no defects. I got a 1968 pea coat from there and it was in near mint condition. I normally wear a 40 suit and went with a 38 per JanSolo's suggestion. Fits...

Nice look on the jacket! How tall are you and what is the length of the jacket?

    Shearling Question

As I said, I'm not looking for style advice. I only posted pics because it was requested, otherwise I would not have. As I said, it was my fault to buy into the drama. However, this forum has never been about brutally honest appraisals, nor should it be.

    Shearling Question

LOL now I'm getting life advice ;) Thanks, but I'm doing pretty well in life :) Perhaps, I'm just disappointed with the general feel that the forum has now. It really has changed in the past year with so much more drama and maybe I got caught up in it. People use to post here and there was a...

    On fit and opinions...

On another thread, I gave my advice to the OP and you interjected and offered this: See, there's the thing. I see your pics, and to me, you're built like some of my friends that wrestled in high school and college. "Trim" to me is a longer, taller, thinner build. So, if I were to say to you...
