    Looking for hat information?

    If you want the 1930s-1940s style, go with the stratoliner. or the stetson stetsonian. It's $245, either one, and a beautiful hat. Or try searching ebay for 7 3/8 hats. Personally, since I'm also a 7 3/8, hats that are exactly one size larger (7 1/2) fit me better than 7 3/8

    Post '30s belt-back jackets and suits

    I've seen loads of 30s sport coats with identical lapels, and many of them are on this site. But I agree with the shoulder surgery.

    Post '30s belt-back jackets and suits

    1970s or 1980s camel hair belt back. Action back and pleated patch pockets. One of the nicer ones I've seen that can pass at a distance for a 30s sport coat.

    Paid $7 for what I hope are 1950s shoes. Walk over saddle shoes from the 50s are mostly nubuck; these are smooth leather. But the construction and laces are similar to 1950s. Anybody know if they're 50s or not?

    I have an owl that's remarkable similar. Is that a tie from a store on 5th avenue?

    Walk-over vintage saddle shoes. I hope they're 1950s, but knowing my luck, they could be far more recent. (Been hoping for shoes older than the 80s for a while now). They're not nubuck like a lot of confirmed 50s walk-overs, which puts me in doubt. Anybody know the date?

    Thanks! It looked so stereotypically "The Mask" version of 40s that I thought it was a replica!

    Can any modern-made clothes really pass for vintage?

    It's cheaper to tailor my own. I can't be spending $300 each on several pairs of pants

    Can any modern-made clothes really pass for vintage?

    Everyone has their own tastes. I just go for the "vintage casual" look. I definitely don't want to overdo it and dress older than I am

    The Stratoliner Society {VINTAGE}

    Ok, there are a few differences. The felt isn't the same quality beaver felt, but it's the nicest I've seen in a new hat. Not quite on the level of a vintage stratoliner, but the closest thing I've found. I feel the design is almost identical, though it'll take a good long time to get it to have...

    Beautiful taupe color. Unexpected with such a dark ribbon, but it works, somehow.

    What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

    Thank you! I was going for the "old photo found in grandpa's album" look. Lots of family photos taken round the back of my house where the ivy grows. And I thought the Chrysler beauty salon sign in the subway was an equally awesome background for my cousin, cause you can BET it doesn't exist...

    The Stratoliner Society {VINTAGE}

    VERY glad to see this post. Just bought the new Stetson stratoliner that they apparently resurrected! Nice to see Stetson returning to their roots, and making hats of the same style and quality as back in the day
