The best is always worth waiting for. I had a custom built bicycle made for me a few years back and waited that long. I wouldn't part with it for love or money.
As for the choice of contract, I have a 20960 in dark russet and it is a fantastic jacket. The Dubow is a great choice. If I decide to...
It is my understanding that RMC do use 'pressed' leather on their A-2's and that they use basically the same pattern for every contract. Just slightly tweaking small things to give the appearance of a difference. Personally, I am not really a fan and think their jackets are a little 'soulless'.
Well, so far I've paired it mostly with 'work wear' style shirts or a Tattersall. It hasn't really been cold enough yet for the full sweater and waistcoat combo. I also think a nice long sleeved henley in off white would work really well. The waistcoat is actually proving to be very versatlie.
It's a perfect fit and is a thing of beauty but I haven't had chance to be around my camera in daylight since getting it. I will try and get some taken this weekend. Or for a quick and dirty pic check my Instagram, user name devilery or #aeroleather.
My Shackleton in the Seal Vicenza arrives tomorrow. Fingers crossed it fits and that Fall/Winter arrives at some point so I can pair it with the Fair Isle and corduroy's I have earmarked in the closet.
That bottle of salad dressing (and many other products) has raised millions for charity, you should look it up sometime. $380m to be precise and he never took a penny. Tell me that isn't cool.
It's pretty well known in movie historian circles that McQueen had a chip on his shoulder for Newman...
I'm guessing it'll be too big. It fits true to size. Here are the measurements. Pit to pit - 23, shoulders - 19, sleeve - 22 1/2 (without knits) and back length is 23.
Vickie handles a lot of the administrative work. She answers most of the initial emails, deals with billing etc. She is as great as John is. They make a brilliant team. Can never say enough good things about the way they handle their business. Pure class all round.
The MA-1 fashion craze has been going for quite awhile now. If any of you feel brave there is a thread on SuperFuture dedicated to it. Be warned there are some really freaking ugly creations to be found within. Shearling is definitely the next thing to be consumed in mass quantities by the beast...
I'm bowing out of any discussion on full vs top grain in any thread. I don't want to add to any more bad atmosphere on TFL. I will be returning to this thread once I own my Vicenza piece.
