    Twin Peaks: James's Jacket?

It looks like two jackets to me. If you look at the picture of him stood next to the tree in Monitor's link, it appears to go under the leather and there's what looks like the ribbed hem sticking out below the leather jacket's edge.

GW AERO AC-21996 is ACME AC-21996

I thought that with the work that Gary Eastman did on the subject for his book the debate has been put to bed at this point. Steer/Cow is and always has been great leather and we now know it was used in several WWII contracts. When makers such as JC and others choose a leather it is pretty much...

    Buzz Rickson A-2

Just FYI, the B-15C runs pretty wide. I'm a 44 in A-2's and can wear both the 40 and 42 in the B-15C Mod. The 40 is only big enough for a t-shirt underneath but the 42 will accommodate a hooded sweatshirt. To me the limiting factor is more the length, which is typical of all accurate nylon...

    bill kelso a2 jacket

I think the overall fit is fine, especially once the sleeves soften and break. However, I'm sorry to say that I think the pockets have been placed too far apart and are too big. But maybe that's just me?

    Buzz Rickson A-2

Why oh why does no one unsnap that bloody collar and then actually find a jacket that fits the model properly. These small things would make it look much better. It is really hard to make a brand new A-2 made from this kind of stiff, shiny HH look good though. We all know that they will break...

So who are the Aero Fanboys ( and girls)

Even though I have at times had a slight issue with how prevalent Aero can be on here. I honestly think this is a virtually pointless thread. The only actual manufacturer who I have ever felt stepped over the bias line was Bill Kelso and their representatives. Even that I think was, in some...

    "The Grizzly"

It's mostly the collar on that AL. They should stay leather. The mouton is too long as well but would flatten down after a good rainstorm. That collar though, oof, fugly!

    this cheered me up

^Yes, because that's exactly what Levi's did. This is all artificial wear. Came right off the showroom floor looking like that. Horrible!

    Leather jacket squeaking.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EBNZTI/ref=pd_luc_rh_sbs_01_01_t_lh?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is a tad expensive but you only need a tiny bit and a tub lasts for years. As you're in the UK, go direct to the source. http://www.renapur.com/shop/renapur-leather-balsam-200ml-39.html Oh and take no...

    Leather jacket squeaking.

I swear by a product called Renapur. I put a good coating on almost every leather item I own. I know that none of them really need it but it conditions beautifully, stops squeaks and adds a fair bit of water resistance. I have used other products in the past that, once they soak in, have made...

    Shackleton vest

The sizing on the Shackleton has had a few folks confused. Including Carrie and Wade at Insurrection. Mine should have been labelled a 44 by it's measurement but Aero put a 48" label in it. All my waistcoats are a little more narrow in the chest than my jackets. Not by much but still smaller...

LL Bean Duck Boots Are Making a Comeback!

They have been a thing for the 'Kinfolk' type blogger girl for about 2 years now already. This article is late to the party. Now the Sorority Set has found them, the end is nigh. LL Bean will get a season, maybe two and then just like Uggs they will pass back into the realms of obscurity. Only...

Stump the lounge part 2 - This is for you Dinerman!

^ Johnson Leathers here in San Francisco would be able to make a new liner for it. They would have to charge a little more for it because there isn't an old one to help with a pattern but they could still absolutely do the job.

    FS: Eastman A-2. Size 44.

Final crazy price drop before I decide I'm just going to keep it. $400 plus actual shipping cost. Make someone really happy on Christmas morning. This is a very nice A-2.

Thurston Italian Vicenza Horsehide Full Grain Veg.-Tanned Horsehide for Aero Jackets

Ok, so I've had the Shackleton in the Seal Vincenza now for about a month. This is no 'plasticy' leather I can tell you. It's a great, supple, mid-weight HH. It does scuff but they add character and if you don't like that they do buff out pretty easy. I'm weird in that I put a coat of Renapur...

    Christmas Jackets?

I'm guessing he has his hands full just making jackets. A two year wait list must be a little daunting. I actually kind of want the project as a challenge. It's been awhile since I flexed the creative side of my brain.

My New Find- Vintage Cal Leathers Horsehide Jacket

Nice find and you, like me, live in SF. It's like Never Never Land here and no gives a f**k what you wear., no matter how old you are. If you like wearing it that's all that matters.

    Christmas Jackets?

Well, I was expecting nothing but then the stars aligned. I got a small bonus from work and a GW Dubow 27798 came up on eBay and now I have a Christmas jacket coming next week, fingers crossed. I'm going to give re-dying like a Quartermaster re-issue a try I think. If I can pluck up the nerve...

    Do you like contrasting knits?

One combo I really like is the dark seal goat skin with the purple knits. If JC would do it, I'd have him change the ones on my 55J14. I also really liked that blue A-1 with the OD knits that was all over the blogs recently. I have the Buzz B-15C Mod. in that combination and I think it looks...

It has Begun - The GW waiting list

No, it's a Hunter. Made by Rick Hunter in Santa Cruz. It is made from some of the nicest steel tubing that Columbus produces and I've equipped it with as much made in the US components as possible. Fits perfectly and rides like a dream. Anyways, back to jackets Gents. Sorry for the diversion.
