In the interests of keeping things fair it's going to have to be day of, I'm afraid. Besides my apartment is in a state of chaos right now getting ready to move back to the UK. Hence the need for a sale in the first place. I will say that the pants on offer are 33"-36" in size and the jackets...
Hey Folks, I'm going to be having a 'Yard Sale' on the 8th at 11:00am. There will be a few jackets some of you folks might be interested in. Also top tier denim from makers like LVC, Warehouse, Full Count etc. CD's, books, housewares, bicycles and parts/tools. Stop by and check stuff out. Thanks.
Yep, all the time. Not just jackets though, all kinds of 'luxury' items. Sad to say but when a countries currency takes a nose dive against the dollar (soon to be Pounds Sterling after I move) the first thing I think is 'Hmm, that means Item X is now ??% cheaper'. Good job I don't have a drug...
^This is true. It gets colder here in SF than most people would think. Especially when the fog rolls back in after just a few hours of it rolling out in the morning. So I have gotten to put all the American flight jackets to good use. I will however be moving back to my homeland in a few short...
I don't have an infinite budget for leather jackets so what I've tried to do is get a rotation of few really nice ones. I like flight jackets so I have an A-1, a russet A-2, a seal A-2 and a 55J14 G-1. All made by Good Wear. I have just added the last piece of the puzzle in an ELC BoB Irvin. All...
I've never done a full on HWT to any jacket but I did buy a GW A-2 from eBay that had been given the works, super hot water and tumble dried by someone who had no real clue what they were doing. It shrank from a 48 to a largish 44. So it does happen. There loss was my gain though. The thing that...
Sadly, I no longer have either garment. One of the reasons being the horrible zippers. I'm guessing the hoodie was probably not brass but was RiRi. The M-65 was brass but I have a strong feeling you'd find some reason that it wasn't the exact zipper you are refering to and would welch on the...
A hooded sweatshirt that had RiRi was actually one of the worst. If I remember correctly a Spiewak M-65 type I had was fitted with RiRi as well and that was horrible also. Sorry my personal experience and preference doesn't aline with your views but there it is.
Personally, there are few things in life I hate more than a two way zipper. I've had them on various 'modern' coats, jackets and hooded sweatshirts and have always found them a complete pain in the ass. Never engaging through both pullers properly, always getting stuck.
Touch wood, I've never...
A vintage 50's HH Hercules HB and a Baracuta G9 I think have been my best scores over many years of trolling the thrift/charity shops. Oh and a single Royal Warrant era Barbour.
I really like that Black Cat RRL but it's such a shame that RL charges so much for things made in China. It's something that drives me nuts. Especially when they trade so heavily on 'American Heritage'.
Here's a quick pic of my Shackleton in seal Vinceza after a few months wear. You can see it's developing nicely. I personally feel that a HH much heavier than this would be too much. This HH is pretty much the perfect weight. The color starts to pop with nice rich undertones fairly quickly...
Whenever leather and water meet there is always the potential for some shrinking. With air drying this risk is lessened but it is still possible you'll get a small amount.
You can also take a spray bottle full of hot water and wet the trim and collar areas. Then kind of scrunch the shearling with your fingers. Again leave it to dry naturally. I've been doing this with the ELC BoB I just acquired from the classifieds. It's working gradually and isn't so harsh on...
I posted as I dislike Kanye because of his terrible attitude towards life and his extremely annoying tendency toward self aggrandizement. An all to common occurrence in American pop culture these days. Having a big mouth and bad attitude is too often praised.
His jacket is probably an over...
^To everyone on the Internet. Please stop posting this idiots picture. I'm pretty sure he doesn't need anymore publicity and we don't need all his clones buying up N2's like they did MA-1's for the last few years. He's a talentless hack.
Damn, Simon at WWII Jackets just emailed me. That last strap fell apart when he took it out to ship it. So the search continues. I'll more than likely just get a repro in the end.
