    I’m no expert but I see zero advantage from a longevity point of view in handwelting vs machine welting. I also can’t see any visual difference if I have to be honest. It’s just one of those things I don’t care enough to pay more for (clearly a manual process is more labour intensive).

    In hindsight, what about a Fine Creek perfecto from Rivet and Hide @Monitor? Awesome jacket, no duties, doesn’t fit or like send it back no issues. Sometimes the custom route seems unnecessarily painful to me.

    I’m sorry this happened Monitor. Botched stitching aside the (lack of) difference in size is what I find more surprising. I decided a while ago I won’t buy anymore from custom makers that can’t disclose clearly the measurements of their jackets. I’m much more confident buying OTR in that case...

    Up to the ankle they are the same as their engineers. They are nice boots I hope you’ll be happy and most importantly they fit your feet well. That said... I’m itching for you Robbie, how can a man live in peace without a pair of engineers?! :) I’d be surprised if you can last a few months...
