I really like this one I found on Y! Jp although perhaps a bit too vintage looking for the rest of my wardrobe, plus the seller won’t deal with proxies... It made me think that there aren’t many raglan sleeve leather jackets around.
The answer you got from Eastman seems the only logical to me and the one I’d expect when i enquiry about sizes before putting down a grand towards a jacket!
As long as they make clear upfront their error tolerance, then it is just a matter of them being able to stick to their own specs. I...
Exactly why would they need a jacket in stock to provide measurements?!
I think relying on body measurements sent in by the customers is a much riskier game for the maker. In the case of the OP for instance they could just have stated the size 38 and 40 stock measurements so he could compare...
Trust me I did when I put in my custom order and the response I got at the time was that they didn’t have any jacket of the same style/size in stock to measure.
It’s so annoying when these makers don’t disclose stock size measurements. Why wouldn’t they? How do they cut patterns? In this respect, Aero is also the same. They won’t say.

Posers aside I still think there is a lot of good inspiration and interesting accounts on IG. It is a great place to keep up with shops and generally speaking men’s fashion (I assume we are all interested in that in one form or the other as otherwise we wouldn’t be members of a clothing forum...

Every jacket purchase is a bit of a learning experience. No big regrets apart from the fact that going custom for me as never worked out particularly better than OTR, in fact it’s probably been worst.
I too like the fit on the Himel button front on you in those photos. It gives off a relaxed...
You see one of these accounts it’s like you’ve seen them all: red wing, selvedge, flannel shirts, beards... yawn. Wasn’t this style (urban lumberjack?) popular a decade or so ago?
Anyway, the cuff check might have been “cool” when the first guy did it, if the entire Instagram do it then well...
