looks like FQHH with some contrast issues on the photo .... Aero FQHH CXL in Brown has almost a "conker" look to it IMHO. These definately look more reddish than it actually is in the flesh.
It is notoriously difficult to get an accurate or consistant picture of this leather as the impact of...
I had an Aero Longshoreman and an Alexanders Long Rider ... both lined in Lochcarron blanket. The longshoremen ( Lochcarron Wool Blanket) was half way between the original shearling lining ( 3/4" shearling was too fluffy on a short leather jacket IMHO ) and the alpaca lining. The Long Rider...
I have a LHB with Shearling liner and Mouton Collar in MWHH. Its a great jacket and incredibly warm.
I'm normally a 42" - 44" Aero ( with enough room for layering ) or a 40" Highwayman
My LHB is a 46" ( to accomodate the shearling ) with 1 1/2" short sleeves and 1" short body and it fits...
For what it's worth I think the jacket looks good :)
Yes, the pocket is higher than normal ... but for me the chest pocket is mainly a cosmetic thing ( I can't recall using it for anything other than keeping the original jacket labels in) .... not sure it affects it's functionallity or it's...
I don't think some members have been particularly helpful up till now Sloanie !!!!! .. which may be the reason behind Schitzo's prickliness ..... just a suggestion !
It makes the Mouton go curly instead of straight ( which it ultimately will do with wear anyway) .... not a bad thing IMHO and makes it look much more vintage.
( Jacket was an Aero M422a) ... made the collar much more comfortable on the nape of my neck and made it look less "pointy".
I was once told by a VERY reptable leather jacket maker ( Jimmy Aird ) that the shortest and tightest a leather jacket will ever be is when you put it on for the first time. In all of the leather jackets I have ever owned ( and that's a LOT of jackets) this has always been the case barring a...
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear ...... I see the Aero fanboys are vocal as ever !
Give it a rest guys please and keep the jacket maker issues, allegations and nonsense out of the op's thread on his new jacket.
So much for the rules of the forum :(
Nice ... Like a j-100 with Lewis lining :)
Wear it well .. That hide is amazing ( I have 2 custom jackets in it - one in burgundy and one in tan )
My Lavant is also in the same hide and is wearing in nicely ... It does scuff easily not being struck through ... But that just adds...
I had a bootlegger in seal goat some years ago .. it was a bit light for on the bike TBH. The goat was superb but I always sort of associated it with G-1's etc. the plus side was it didn't need any break in at all and was VERY weatherproof.
It's a smashing jacket in CXL ... and a GREAT M/C...
Got my Vanson "Rush" jacket coming in on the 19th and also an Alexanders Roadster in Oilpull Steer ( which I picked up on the outlet pages for £300 )
This on the back of selling my Suburban and a couple of Schott jackets ...... 3 out, 2 in ..... I'm improving :)
Really Nice .. .the Suburban is one of my favourite designs by Stu ... it sort of out-Highwaymans the Highwayman in the following areas :
- Straight yoke as opposed to shallow V
- Proper buckles with prongs :)
- Zip sleeves and no storm cuff
- leather trim in the bottom 1/4 to stop the...
Lost Worlds Suburban horsehide leather jacket size 42.
This jacket was purchased by me directly from Lost Worlds via eBay July 2014.
It was listed as new when I purchased it. I have only worn it inside my house. It has the older Suburban Label positioning ( prior to the introduction of...
