To me the waist looks much to large. You could fit a watermelon underneath that jacket. You probably need to ask them to size down below the armholes to get a neater fit at the waist. Lengthening the jacket won't help a bit IMO. I agree with nick that the side view is not very flattering.
Luvmyman, all vintage shoes I have are half lined with linen. When soaking them in conditioner, du you also soak the linen? And if yes, how do you get the fabric clean again?
I think it's a matter of taste. Dan's jacket looks like a perfect length to my eyes while I find HD's too long. I am 186, so about 6'1.5" and my 30s half belt is 24.5". My torso is slightly shorter compared to my lower body and if anything, I find my jacket is bordering on the long rather than...
Small differences like this can't be avoided when working with such heavy leathers. Aero have a statement regarding this on their website. Just enjoy your jacket. :)
Yes, I've done that. Most cleaners don't offer the service, though. And the critical part about it is that they need to have staff who know how to use a press and iron to give the jackets their shape back. Bad ironing can pretty much ruin a suit. It's good to get out those nasty odors.
Thanks. I guess it is like with all Aeros so far. I need to have them tapered down below the armholes to accommodate my chest-waist-drop. If it was smaller in the waist I'd be seriously tempted.
From Berlin? I wish I knew who the tailor was. It is certainly not an easy task to find a tailor who can get the period details right and achieve a good fit at the same time.
