Personally, I'd speak to Art. I do reeded sweatbands all the time for new builds on the hats I make, but for vintage work, if your REALLY discerning, I trust Art in a minute!
Switch up to the high fade and you're good to go!! Been wearing one since I left the Corps. Oaa Rah! (no, not me in the pic... I'm waaaaay better lookin' then that wanna-be Jar Head!) :p
In case anyone is interested, there's been a change to one of the sweatband vendors out there. JW Hats is no longer selling sweatbands and have sold that part of their business to a gent in New Mexico, Brian of Sullivan Hats in Basque, NM.
I've spoken with Brian and it appears that little...
Oddly, the only "hat" ad I've seen lately is for the Resistol RideSafe Helmets. (Not REALLY a hat, is it??)
I sure as heck ain't wearing that one in a public space, unless it's in an arena... on a fairly green horse!! LOL!!
Gotta love that classic "Lacer"! I still have a pair of Justin's in Bullhide that I picked up 20 years ago. They've been resoled and reheeled at least twice and they STILL get the job done!!
I'll bet those are going to feel awesome to wear!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! That was truly a great find and read!! I LOVE the shot of Marie Gail. I don't find it all that common to see females featured in advertising of that type back in the day.
To Art's point above, I can barely see anyone wearing much more than a 6" crown!!
Can't seem to locate the thread on "X" ratings. It was pretty well documented in here and I wanted to share some of the pertinent info with a friend who isn't familiar with how felt hats are rated.
Thanks gang! ;)
