    Remnant of "Red Scare" repealed.

As well as the "toothbrush" moustache and the Roman salute. Interestingly enough the toothbrush moustache style was intoduced to Germany by visiting Americans.

    Remnant of "Red Scare" repealed.

I almost missed this second paragraph. Yes, all very true. In all honesty, this has followed God's Chosen People throughout history. I think the major diffenece is that Nazi Germany was not just anti-Semitic, they developed and implemented a policy to exterminate the Jews. Very few outside...

Well any wrongdoing is indeed that, wrong. However, their overall handling of the Jews hardly suggests they were complicit in Jewish extermination. For instance, Jews fought and died in the Finnish army both in the Winter War and the Continuation War. They were given time off for the...

    Remnant of "Red Scare" repealed.

That's an interesting take on it. The FPPM was always a minority party and in the next election only captured four percent of the seats in parliament. Remnant of "Red Scare" repealed.

Politics makes for strange bedfellows. Initially as the Finns were under attack from the USSR they appealed to the Allied Powers for aid but, that fell on deaf ears. Subsequently as a matter of survival they aligned themselves with the Axis powers.

    What to do with memorabilia?

Minor correction; both his Colt Model 1873 .45LC and his S&W .357 Mag sported ivory, not pearl grips. As to your question, I think a research librarian from a university would be good contact as well as the suggestion above for an 82nd AB historical group or the WWII Museum.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Thanks! There is just something about the Open Road design that is for lack of a better word, classic. I tend to think the thin ribbon somehow sets it apart.

    Cowboy Boots

Just got these Ariat boots. Ordered them online as I had read that their sizing ran true and they were comfortable boots with a removable insole. I have the flattest feet but these are comfortable boots and I can put my orthotics in them too. Very happy with the purchase!

Looks great! I just ordered a plaited kangaroo leather hat band from Badgery Belts to switch out with the ribbon one on my Snowy River. Is that by chance where you purchased that one?

    Post New Hats Here!

Marvelous find. For a hat that old the condition of the ribbon is just another part of that hat's history and character.

Vintage Things That Have APPEARED In Your Lifetime

+1. The first car we had with seatbelts was my mom's 1965 Plymouth Valiant. Beyond the seatbelts I remember the aftermarket add-on seatbelt retractors like these:
