Thanks, Brent. Today, Taiwan recorded no new confirmed cases. There was a major holiday about ten days ago with many people travelling. The government is concerned about new transmissions, so things have become stricter. Today's news was good news. Hope things are improving in everyone's neck of...
Decided to add a few photos of the Olney weave, and the brim is two layers. It's an OK hat. I bought it because I live in a harsh hat environment and didn't want to wear my Stetson daily.
The Gamble and Gunn boater looks very much--if not exactly--like the Olney boater, except for a different ribbon and liner and higher price.
Olney offers them at a considerable lower price. However, they are not accepting orders at this time...
Thank you Belfastboy, I hadn't heard of a kettle curl. Found this thread on the different curls.

Everything Australian is now having a sale on Akubra hats. Now would be a good time to get one if that's what you would like. Sale is only for a couple of days.

Can't go wrong with a Campdraft.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Agnoulita Hats. You have a great looking hat! I believe the color is the same as mine. I chose light grey because it should go with many different colors of clothes. You wear the hat very, very well.
Welcome to the forum.
Thank you for sharing your great looking Agnoulita hat with us. I have to admit that I'm a little less excited about mine, but that is partially due to my choices. It is, however, one of my best fitting hats. I have thought about purchasing another hat from Mr. P but the recent increases in his...

I purchased a straw hat from this seller a few years ago. Packaged very well. My impression is that he lives in Amish country and once he has...
Welcome to the Lounge. If you put on a hat and the front and back fit fine but there's a gap on the sides, chances are good you're a long oval. You can add foam under the sweat band on the sides to help the hat fit better.
Brent, thank you for giving us the opportunity to see what Mr. P. can do when making hats. I think Mr. P's hats just keep getting better and better and have reached an excellent consistency. I particularly like the dark brown rabbit fur hat. I think the wide edge trim gives it a special look...
Brent, thank you for the information. One thing I've thought is that we don't know how many hats he's working on at one time. Since our focus is on the hat we've ordered, it's natural to think he's only working on ours when, in fact, he's probably working on at least several during the day. The...
I like them both. Do you find the weight of the felt to be lighter than Akubra's. I think the Agnoulita hat I have is a lighter weight. It kind of surprised me at first. However, it probably is a better match for the climate I find myself in.
Thank you, Brent. Happy to oblige. Not as flat as I would like, but I will work on that later.
Amish straw hat
I think a Mennonite hat made by Flying Cloud. Want to flatten the brim a little more.
Thank you, Jared. I did look at the link you provided, and I do have some woodworking skills. I'll look more into making something like that. Thank you again for your comment and suggestion.
