col kurtz...uh, i mean celtic...i of course knew that, i was just referring to my backward attitude originally when i first came to wearing biker jackets...now, i prefer the look, even tho i haven't ridden a bike since 1973 when earlier that year i took out the side of a new capri on pch in...
great website
great pix and website paden, you do wonderful displays of your merchandise, as well as (i must say) better displays for some of the brands you carry than the manufacturers, such as here with schott, as well as with aero and eastman (tho eastman's presentation is almost on a par...
swatted
aswatland, i respectfully request to know which a-2 manufacturers you have listed as contract suppliers for post ww2 a-2s, so i could compare it to the one that i have
my information is that spiewak was one of a number of manufacturers of post war a-2s that followed required specs...
quotable u r
an expectedly classic quote from someone who quotes vivienne westwood!
indeed it is about the cut, and, as morally lacking they were, the nazis knew a thing or two about what matters on the material plane, otherwise they couldn't have hoodwinked germany and wrecked the world as...
prices went south
sorry south, when i bought mine i found a number of resellers of new 184sm's in the high $300 range, but that was 1.5 years ago
today, this might be the best you can do, unless you care to go 30 pages into google search results...
oBvious
hi, i think the obvious answer is aero, which custom make every jacket, will do customization, have a great number of options in steer and horsehide, and are in the $700 price range...
gorgeous jackets, and they meet your criteria
very cool...nice to hear that not only did they do that, but they had the parts available to keep their vintage jackets in proper condition as people continue to wear them!
geebee
hi, the GB g-1 is incredible, classic cut and shape, as long as you don't get the civilian version
the GB milspec jackets run a tad big in their sizing, which doesn't mean they are baggy, just that what other milspec makers label a 46, gb labels a 44, from my experience about a year ago...
i should have checked where you live...we are neighbours, we think alike (despite my using british spellings for things like 'neighbours')...in fact chatting with you seems like i am conversing with a doppleganger
i'll keep the shovel, though it apparently wouldn't cost much to send it over...
spitfire on my tail
P5640blouson, i will warmly assume that your comments were not meant to be insulting, as i have nothing but the fondest feelings in my heart for your constant contrariness...to wit:
...will be happy to post a pic of my non-"crepuscular" body...which at 45.5" chest and...
thanks P5640blouson, it is fun sharing info...as for counterpoints, my favorite show growing up was firing line...i disagreed politically completely with william f. buckley, but loved him and his circuitous diatribes
let me assure you that you would adore the eastman luftwaffe...pix and...
thanks seb lucas regarding my luftwaffe, i love it...
i think you are making the correct decision, though it sounds like a vanson off the shelf enfield size 46 (they run small) might be to your liking...if you'll be in lobsterland (massachusettes) you might want to try a vanson on and...
celtic, you midget! (that's a joke)
tjoek...really sleek fit...very nice...varies from how i wear mine since i go way beyond your 3" preference circumference vs. actual chest size...all a matter of preference, and also i'd say in jacket type, as you are wearing cafe racer style jackets...kind...
howdy P5640blouson...
i think if anything your views may be fueled by my having taken the eastman luftwaffe shots at night with artificial and low lighting, vs. in the day and with added artificial lighting for the lewis, giving the photos a less quality look
however, i can assure you the...
nice! and everyone on the fedlounge who's got the joneses for hartmann luftwaffe jackets should like the small flap pockets on the bottom...i, however, love slanted breast zip pockets (no, that's not a sexual fetish!)...looks kewl
i would, however, really like to know how aero refurbishes...
somebody help me...horse and water
i've gotten my new eastman luftwaffe in horse, and was real happy, even about walking in the rain as everyone here on the forum loves trashing their jackets to make them 'better'
but then that nasty peacoat scared the beejesus out of me about his leather...
wahhhhhhhhhh
well thanks peacoat, now i'm fer sure fer sure going to be afraid of the rain...am wondering if using leather water resistance spray's, or just conditioners, would keep this from happening...but then i'd also be a bit wary putting a water resist spray on my eastman...
eeeeek, your story of your shrunk schott (no, that's not a double entendre) made me take notice...i wouldn't like my jackets to be any smaller than they are now, and since everyone on the forum is such a fan of doing a gene kelly with your jackets, i eased up enough to not run out of the rain...
i'm totally interested in fit, especially since coming onto the forum here i've found many members prefer their mil and bike jackets a trim fit...reasoning being that ww2 mil jackets were worn trim, and for bike jackets that are actually worn for biking, a good fit is needed if one hits the...
welcome...i'm no bonafide expert on label contract numbers, but this certainly has a contract number which, as far as i know, refers to it's being built according to military contract...and at that time spiewak was not in the business (if they ever were) of making 'replica' mil jackets
it...
