What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Had to have a routine checkup, so wore my new old bowler to the doctors. Had to stop by the courthouse and on the way out the sheriff's deputy at the door paid me a compliment on the hat.

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

Mine came in as well, a nice Lincoln Bennett &Co. Seller had pushed out the dent, but I will try to steam out the remnant. Quality is apparent throughout, probably the nicest hat I've ever owned. There was remnants os something brown and crumbly behind the sweat, something I'm sure was used to...

Thanks fellas, I been wanting to try a bowler for years but wasn't confident enough. I found this one and I'm hoping the fit will be right as the seller didn't know the size. But going from the pictures posted with a tape measure across the length and width of the sweat its definitely in the...

Ask a question, get an answer

Hey guys, I just bought a Lincoln Bennett &Co Bowler from ebay. My question is this, how difficult is it to steam a dent like this out? I've read that bowlers use a particularly stiff felt and I haven't the experience of working on one before. Thanks!

Thanks for the information Jack, that makes allot more sense to me. I couldn't figure out if it was done on a wire wheel how they kept the edges of the stummel crisp and didn't tear out the bead on the bulldog.

It's one I really like as well, one of the main reasons I bought the bent bulldog I posted earlier in fact. In researching Dr.Grabow I've mostly seen it referred to as "wire carved", seems it was done with a stiff wire wheel.

Decided to clean up the little starfire, not sure of the model number for this one. Despite the chunk bit out of the bit it smokes really well, it's light and handy. I think it'll make a dandy pipe for work.

I apologize for the bad pic,our weather has turned ugly for the evening. But nevermind the weather,my fiance's stepdad gifted me 3 more Dr.Grabows this evening! A Silver Duke squat bulldog, a white color duke, and a wire rusticated starfire. Haven't cleaned the starfire yet, it has a damaged...

Picked this Dr.Grabow Golden Duke up on etsy. I had been seeing pipes of this shape on YouTube, and it really started to grow on me. Which led me down a rabbit hole of what's a bulldog or rhodesian, squat or not and all manner of nuances to confuse a newbie. So began a search for an affordable...

Scored a couple estate pipes from Ebay. The longer one is marked "Westminister" and "made in London England, the other is marked "Pipe by Lee limited edition" Gave them both a good scrubbing with vodka inside, and on the stems. Although I don't know how to clean the oxidation off the...

My first pipe, a Capri brand from Italy. From what I've gathered from terminology gleaned from this thread among other sources, its a basket pipe picked up at a local cigar and beer lounge. Right or wrong I started with a cherry aromatic tobacco. Mostly because it reminded me of the WW2 vet...
