Yep, the window for return closed a while ago. It would have been an exchange/store credit anyhow.
When he marked the sleeves, it looked as if he marked it similar to what you said you like--right below where my watch sits. I'll follow up with them regardless because I do have a couple of...
What should I be asking the tailor if I move ahead with having the sleeves shortened? How much should they be shortened? Is it better to have the creases settle? I've been wearing the jacket for about a month.
The first 3 photos are from when I fist purchased it. The next three are more recent.
Thanks for the link to the a2 on ebay. I messaged the seller and am waiting to hear back. If all goes well, I'll probably pick it up.
I'll likely try the BR in the larger size and see if that works better for me. If neither the 36 or the 38 feel right or don't look good, I'll move on, either to...
I'll look them up. Ty!
I will! I just stumbled across these on Cultizm, which is a German site. I guess the brand is called Military Surplus. Ever heard of it?

That still looks really good. I wouldn't be able to tell it was "cheaper" unless it was under a magnifying glass. Do they also make non-stenciled versions?
Haha yes, I imagine I am. I'm indecisive, short, just lost a ton of weight so no longer have any idea what fits, and can't seem to find the...
So I could get quite a few at very decent prices (if I wanted). I had not heard of Mil-Tec before, but I am looking them up now. I've seen Bronson ones discussed, but I wasn't sure about their quality. Then again, all jackets are going to get worn and broken in eventually.
Depending on where I...
I appreciate you posting these photos. All of them look great on you, but if I had to pick them in the order in which they stand out, it is as follows:
1) Photo 3: It might be because I have my eyes on a navy/blue-colored jacket at the moment, but I really like this. One thing I noticed in the...
I plan on keeping the khaki McCoy's. Overall, it's very comfortable and I generally like the fit. I'm hoping the shortened sleeves will improve it even more. I'm at the weight I'll likely stay at going forward (if everything goes as planned). I've been within 5 lbs or where I'm at for about 2...
I appreciate you posting these. This is hard since they all generally look good on you,
I'm at where I want to be and where my doctor wants me to be. Could I lose more? Yeah, but I stalled out where I am now about 2 or 3 months ago, so I'm keeping the same exercise/eating routines going...
EDIT: I posted this before your fit pics. I'll follow up as soon as they are all posted. Thanks!
Again, I appreciate the feedback. I believe my weight-loss has hit its plateau. I've been around the same weight, give or take small fluctuations, for about 3 mos. now. Originally, it was quite...
Sure, I get that. With the weight loss, I've had to start rebuilding my entire wardrobe (I had a BR in 42 that used to actually fit me). I definitely have that "bug" where I want shiny new things, and I probably should be looking at more economical and functional clothing.
I appreciate her candor. To confirm, the IH is the one in the photos where I'm wearing the mask, which I thought was the smallest. The McCoy's is the other khaki one. She thought the IH was the one that made me look like a child in an adult's coat?
The jeans are another victim of my weight...
Sorry, I posted that length reply before seeing your reply. I definitely don't hate the fit. My concern was the armholes or shoulders could be an issue. The sleeves...well, the sleeves are always going to be an issue. I just need to find a trusted tailor to sort that for me.
I attached a couple...
I guess I'm looking at it from the perspective that the armholes are too small, so I should go bigger. One of the issues with sleeves and length is that I'm short and stocky-ish (or used to be overall), so I usually have issues with sleeves and body lengths. I have the same problem with...
I'm leaning towards snagging the RMC (or grabbing the BR A-2 if it becomes avaiable). I'm going to compare my current Khaki n-1 measurements to the Navy n-1 and see how the match up.
I agree that going up in size would be too big. I'd have to get the sleeves shortened (I still may need to do that on the 36) and I think the length would be too long for my liking.
When I spoke with HPA, they noted that while the jacket looked crisp, it appeared to be too small, especially...
