Art, I learned a couple of new things just watching that video. Thanks again. I truly hope that when I finally stop making hats, I can pass on some of my knowledge as well. You are a gem! ;)
Hmmm; a fair question. Since each hat has slightly different characteristics (crown shape, brim crease) , all depends on your particular facial construction. One might look great. The others, not so much ... o_O
What would help is if you added a picture of you.
New hat that I just finished last week. A nice crossover .. kind of the new millennial look with a little bit of country tossed in. A self-band with a silver buckle set to dress it up.
I was trying out a new style for me when I made this one. Kind of a crossover style with a fedora style crease.
It looked better on Carolyn, so I took a picture with her wearing it. I'll try to get a couple of more pix of it when I have a minute. Not sure how clear it is, but she does dress...
I was happy for Greg and Ruth, but it is a bit bittersweet as I have had some great conversations with Greg and will miss his humor, his willingness to assist, and his sage advise.
(Never noticed that date though)
I mostly get mine though NES. Not a retail site, but they make a lot of liners for retail and custom hat makers. That said, Hat Supply Company is a source I've used over the years and I find them very reliable.
My daughter started making hats at the start of 2018 and she experienced the same thing. She checked back periodically and she now has her own account. I may have mentioned previously that Winchester can only produce a finite number and has to be able to respond to their lager customers. Just...
I'm pretty sure there is a group for that ...
More than a few of us on the forum could probably act as leaders!! :p
"My name's (insert name here) and I'm a Hat-a-holic."
Don't know how I missed this thread back in Oct, but I just now saw the pic and I am truly impressed. :D
I'll buzz you later and we can chat about this. I'd love to make one of these!!
Kinda, but not really. When my daughter decided to start making hats last year, she had to wait about 6 months or more before they would sell to her. My guess is that they are pretty careful with being able to meet the orders for their current customer base.
Ahhh, Thanks for the correction! I didn't know about that New York address being an indicator. I thought they had switched to a newer style of hatband ribbon by then. I just learned a new tip on identifying Cavanugh's. (See why I love this forum??) ;)
