There was a moment not that long ago when on one of those auction sites there were a load of Stetsons being offered that were each made "especially for .." a bunch of famous Hollywood names.
I don't know for how many years it occurred nor what year it began or ended but Stetson produced Boss Of The Plains for "officials" of the Death Valley '49ers. The one I purchased a few weeks back has hallmarks of a 60's hat so this hat was made in an era when the BOP was long out of production...
Turns out this Boss Of The Plains was made for Death Valley '49ers official, Schelda Campbell. I'm not exactly sure where to put hat chronologically but between embroidered liner, fairly deep embossments and rectangular size tag (w union markings on other side) I'm thinking early 60s? Schelda...
Like jacket a lot , LOVE the T !

I can do digital upstairs but not here.
and We're Only In It was the first Zappa record I heard and it scared the s^*t out of me.
Still...
Nice grab, Brent!
Busted. Got silly but it checks a lot of boxes. I don't think the BOP was in production like this in the 60s. I figure, as sweat reads, it was a custom for a 49er member.
I understand where you're coming from and am looking forward to doing more "shopping at home" myself. All bets are off when it comes to those early Stetsons though!
