Very much enjoyed this fantastic parade of German craftsmanship, Matt! Great additions
The tradition with VHG continues, out of 3 hats intented for me, all ended up being 2-3 sizes too large...how awkward is that?
Thanks Stefan!
I figured with 8 or so employees currenlty, they must have stopped making hats long time ago, perhaps right after the Monza factory closed
Phenomenal woollies, Matt! Thanks for sharing! I am glad you went for the melone too ;)
I should also second Steve's compliments regarding your wife's good taste and I'll add that I am glad she is not addicted, that would put my box in danger :)
Couldn't end this year any better, Stefan! Hard to pick one, just for the sake of it I'll go with the Barbisio Lontra- love the finish (I bet though, that British made Stetson will get the most votes)
It's been a while since I last saw the British version, can't really recall how it compares to the Hollywood's remake. The mise-en-scene on this latter one is mind blowing. Thanks for the tip, Terry! I'll definatelly check them side-by-side
An old favorite, "Gaslight" 1944, Gothic Noir, very atmospheric
Not too many hats here, but some interesting stiff felts (a light color Cambridge bowler amongst them) and toppers, as appropriate for the era
Even if it's not your style after all, there's always Ingrid ;)
Thanks again, Stefan!
All great but the green hat Ads ;)
I see now why Daniele was so skeptical about the German "Bantam" I've sent him despite the German labels
Regardless the movie he plays in, Edward G. Robinson never fails to serve as inspiration, hat-wise, with his old-school creases and upbrim styling
From "The woman in the window", "The stranger" and "Scarlet street"
Another treasure, Stefan! Thanks! The Ad with the wool felts "production" is to fall in love with ;)
So there are 9 grand prix won from 1910 and after and 8 (or more) before 1900?
Santa just left me two hats under the tree-what a good boy I must have been this year :) In my letter I've highlighted it needs to be pre-war, but I think I can make an exemption this time
F.R. Tripler & Co Lord's, in Midnight blue
Tight brim curl
Not an expert in American hats but I think...
