Another French, "Thibet" in a special wool recipe. This is probably the most elegant wool felt that has passed from my hands. More silky than rough. Pics from Daniele
And with that I've just remembered a Thibet wool bowler if someone wants to post it here ;)
Not as fancy or good as the Negrettis shown above, but another relatively light weight wool bowler. Unknown brand, probably English, l am thinking 30s. Also soft and flexible, nearly wanted to be bashed
Fantastic woolies, Stefan! Thank you for replying to the call :) These old wool hats are on a different league and have nothing to do with modern wool hats obviously, neither they are more prone to shrinkage :)
Sun and positive temperatures after who knows how long...Time for a brake from the blacks. I hope you don't mind.
Sools upbrim in grey that my friend Daniele sent me earlier this year. Probably late 20s/early 30s
What to say more about this hat?
Thank you Daniele, much appreciated! I couldn't agree more with you. The European wool centres- e.g., Monza in Italy, Guben in Germany and Esperaza in France- have produced some magnificent wool hats in the past and although there are plenty of examples and tons of info in the respective...
Very, very nice Steve. I love the details. That's the first WPW I see. The logo makes sense for it to contain some beaver fur, I guess. The loden melone is also fantastic and unique.
Here is a French Wool homburg and recent find, probably from 20s-30s
@mayserwegener , @Daniele Tanto , @steur , @Mean Eyed Matt and all woolie-lovers would you care to post some of these "inferior" hats here? ;)
Daniele, nice to see it in action!
Even that is not reflected on the amount of hats you've got from the cold North, I can confirm that you have been a fantastic boy this year. Also it seems it was quite a productive and multi-tasking year for me; in addition to my things I have performed some...
Thank you for your support gentlemen and the bartenders for paying attention. It seems that we are set now. If that's our place to post our beloved woolies, soft and stiff felts, both pre- and post-war we might just need to revise the title a bit. Maybe something more general, yet catchy?
