    Hi, Acquired this jacket about a week ago, lovely tan colour as you cant see, tailored by Stein & Bloch for Hughes & Hatcher, who where based in Pittsburgh i believe. Union tag is 1939 i think, so a i guess it would be 40s.....would that be late or early? These are new pics.... i did 't like...

    Hi, Here are a few pics of my overcoat, i bought it about fifteen years ago in Camden lock antiques market, London with another, they both cost me £10... yes! 10 pounds for both. Amazing!! Its really heavy and has a wool lining. I believe its 1950s. Cheer Mike

    I've seen the article regarding the union labels, the label on hat has the "bug" straight, (ie its not slanted). Does that give us a date of Forties?

    Hi Guys, having done a little research i believe the hat dates from the mid to late forties, and was custom made for H. Tooey Mercantile Company based in Brookfield, Mo. I found a scrap of info listing them in 1941, but nothing else. Here's some better Pics Mike

    Thanks Red, Yes! its immaculate, the brim is 2 3/4" and crown at pinch 4 1/2". the Liner cover is not the usual plastic, but seems like oily paper-ish, if thats a word.
