no, please post. any date on the middle one ? p.s. the one you posted 5 pages back looks early 20s rather than later 20s: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?69703-1920s-suits&p=1669849&viewfull=1#post1669849 p.p.s the last one has been posted before but is so good it deserves a...

it's the collar which is odd rather than the lapels, as the collar edge is horizontal (or slightly down sloping) rather than upward sloping. you see this quite a lot in early 20s catalogues:

nice suit Baron. belted backs in conservative pinstripe fabrics seem to be much rarer than belted backs in the more 'sporty' fabrics.

eBay: 1920s Middishade Blue Serge 3 Piece Suit

that's a shame (it's confusing keeping track of the suit traffic on here sometimes) ;) good luck with the sale. p.s. are you sure the waistcoat is only a 28" chest ? that seems too small. you might have measured it in an odd way. usually people will require the widest measurement under the...

1920s DEADSTOCK Black Striped 3 Piece

the trouser hems are a very narrow 6.5" which -if correct- would suggest early 20s. the jacket looks quite wide around the middle and the trousers are a 36... a semi-stout size ?

    Adult Boys

there's really two separate strands in the UK: the 'chav' culture who wear sportswear / trainers religiously, which has its roots in the 'casual' look of the early 80s. this group are the ones who would have been working in factories before they were all closed down, and now have practically...

entirely depends on how you define 'superior'. if they mean ultra light weight, fine yarn, soft as shirting feel ... then yes, it's superior.

Vintage Suitings: Discussions of, and sourcing modern equivalents, etc.

the LL range by Fox are as good in my opinion (as far as flannel goes). they're basically reproduced from the original 30s archive. sadly at £120 a metre they are beyond my budget.

Vintage Suitings: Discussions of, and sourcing modern equivalents, etc.

some vintage Kay's catalogue scans on the subject of flannels: 1923. note the use of the terms ; 'extra stout' (read: heavy) and 'serviceable all the year around' (read: 'we're British. we wear heavy any season') 1928. no mention of weight here unfortunately : 1930. 'super...
