Liberty Ship ready to blow off English coast?

Casualties would put it at number one! But, for sheer size, the N1 at 7 kilotons is hard to beat! Nothing will ever beat the Tsar Bomb, 57 kilotons.

    Your Most Disturbing Realizations

A few years back, I realized, if it wasn't for WWII, I would not be here! For most, it was because their Father went to a strange land (like England,) and married a native, for me it was different. My Grandfather died in 1944, and my Dad was sent home mid 1945. As you can imagine, being one of...

Liberty Ship ready to blow off English coast?

Actually, it was surpassed several times since then! Halifax was estimated at 2.9 kilotons, the Texas City blast was between 2.7-3.2 KT, The Royal Navy did a test 18 April 1947 that was 3,2 kt, Minor Scale and Misty Picture test at White Sands Missile range 27 June 1985; 14 May 1987, was 4.8 kt...

Great collection you and your Dad have amassed! I really like the 1973 Schlitz ground breaking shovel! How did you find that?

    Old gas stations

Just had a terrible realization today! The little gas pump symbol came on the gauge on my Triumph Thruxton, that's when it hit me, there are absolutely no service stations down town any more! Just two 7/11s at opposite ends. Man I'm depressed!

    Your Most Disturbing Realizations

It's the 24/7 news cycle! They have to fill so much time, and bad sells. When I was a kid, I never heard if a girl was killed on a school bus in South Carolina, only if a train hit a bus and killed all the kids! The odds of you dying in a war are at an all time low, even if you are in the...

    Your Most Disturbing Realizations

A friend of mine said it best, "when I get on my Triumph Bonneville, I am an 18 year old fresh out of Parris Island!"

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

My Grandmother had a bit part in that film! She just brazenly walked right through the set. The director asked her why would she walk right through, she just said, "well, I needed to get over here, now didn't I!" They left her in.

    Show us your vintage home!

Your mother is definitely from the same age group as me! The only stitches I had growing up, was when my wisdom teeth were pulled. We just pored peroxide on and wrapped it tight!

What is your favorite aircraft of all time?

I found this dramatic photo, miss labeled, as an SR71, it is actually, an A12 Cygnus! The single seat predecessor to the SR71, flown by the CIA.

    Show us your vintage home!

Thanks, Frank! I have two bathrooms, a full one on the main level and a 3/4 upstairs. Well, I will have a 3/4 upstairs, when I can get back to it. My truck is down, right when I need it most. Got to laugh at the timing!

    Your Most Disturbing Realizations

That reminds me, when I was young, I knew lots of people born in the 19th century! My Grandparents, lots of neighbors, they were every where. Now there are only two people in the entire world that are verified to have been born before 1900!
