I pretty much stick to the meat and produce aisles. It's healthier and less expensive than all the packaged stuff. I also drink lite EAS drinks (which are full of vitamins, low in fat and have balanced carbs and proteins). I eat six small meals a day, so I'm never hungry. Eating late doesn't...
Just wanted to pass along a product that really helped my hands.
Badger Cuticle Care
It says "cuticle," but I used it all over my hands. I'd been washing my hands in Dawn and wondered why they were so dry. Well, Dawn is a de-greaser :eusa_doh: . My hands were as rough as sandpaper. The...
Body For Life (which is the program I follow) includes carbs as well as lean meat and vegetables. All the foods that Gilbey listed are good foods--you just can't eat all you want of them and still lose weight.
Back to the original topic, I am losing fat (not weight) for myself, to look and...
I don't imagine you'd lose much weight if you loaded up on all those carbs. A high carb diet was in vogue about 10 years ago, and you can see what the general result has been. You need protein to build muscle, which burns calories even while you're resting. (Fat just sits there.)
I gained weight over the last year because of an accident and illness. Some other factors prevented me from exercising after that. I now have clothes that don't fit--and I'm losing weight to get back into them. I don't get curvy when I put on weight--just my face and belly get fatter.
I've...
Some ladies' sweaters are so thin that you cannot even wear them over a shirt--all the folds of the shirt show through and look terrible.
If I want a lighter sweater, I'll wear a cotton one.
I guess I'm the odd person out. I'm sorry, but I don't think the frames flatter your face, Zaika. They're a little too much like your face shape.
Kim B, I think your glasses really suit you. :) Too bad they don't fit well!
Warren Buffett is another example of a billionaire who lives modestly and gives away much of his money. Incidentally, he doesn't support his grown children or grandchildren. They earn their own keep. He's also a proponent of the estate tax.
I've read that many people on Forbes wealthiest list...
The energy it takes to light a bulb seems like a drop in the bucket compared to the energy it takes to heat and cool the mondo houses now being built.
Flat screen TVs are another energy guzzler. I recently read that they consume more energy than a refrigerator. I won't hold my breath waiting...
I understand that a lot of women, even if they don't propose, have to gently nudge their men in that direction. So I don't think the idea of a woman proposing is all that strange. Good luck!
I haven't found that to be the case in their other editorials, or even the rest of their news. For example, every one or two weeks, they recommend a list of five books that generally don't have anything to do with business. As for the rest of their newspaper, the world is their beat. I've seen...
A bright, self-motivated person might do well being self-employed. Think about some business that does a good job for you: do you really care how much education the owner has?
Yes, I've met bright people with just a high school diploma and engineers who were knuckleheads. I don't quite agree that life is as simple as getting out of it what you put into it. If an education is an investment, shouldn't you get more out of it than you put into it?
Awhile back, the Wall Street Journal called college a very expensive IQ test. They've written other editorials about what a ripoff higher education is these days.
A lot of successful people don't have a degree, and a lot of people with degrees aren't successful. All the time and effort I put into getting an engineering degree didn't amount to a hill of beans, financially.
As I understand it, ladies and gentlemen may exchange bon mots. But polite people don't try put strangers in their place and sensible people know you can't win an argument. Ladies and gentlemen don't attack one another, either. A man who attacks a woman tends to come of looking worse than a...
Not being able to take a little kidding isn't sexy. It doesn't show confidence.
I read Ms. Snow's blog entry and didn't find anything vicious or personal in it. A woman who doesn't share our mores or sense of styles--in other words, someone who isn't up our alley--said she doesn't think...
