    Two-Tone Dress Design

I think for this shade of green, cream would indeed look better than pure white.

    Two-Tone Dress Design

I like the yellow contrast. I agree that a light color on top and a darker color on the bottom looks better than vice versa. If you are uneasy about wearing yellow next to your face, the right shade of pink or lavender might look good with the green.

    Getting Started, Wardrobe Staples?

Viola, it's been a long time since I was just starting out, but I prefer to have a small wardrobe because of cost and space. One suggestion I haven't seen on this thread is color. Get your staples in colors that coordinate with one another and that you love and that people compliment you on...

Nerd Alert III: Sarah Connor Chronicles

I saw a few minutes of it. Too much blood & guts for me. I'll pass.

Classy dressing is one thing, and this is something else entirely!

Does anyone prefer a traditional mens shoo?

Amen. I just spent months looking for dance shoes (I do lindy, for which I require an almost athletic shoe since I'm not 35 anymore). I resent that pretty much all women's clothes aren't made as well as men's. Try finding an inside pocket on a ladies jacket, or ladies gloves with Thinsulate...

    The Swing Movement

Sounds kinda like a blues dance :)

Some of my favorite dances are with leads who do Charleston, lindy and/or Balboa in one song.

A peek inside the seduction community.

Just yesterday on the bus some guy who smelled of alcohol tried to chat me up. When he didn't get anywhere, he chatted up the girl sitting in front of us: "I like your... ... ... leopard...thing." (Meaning her coat.) Smooth, no?

    The Swing Movement

Just the other night, my best guy friend was complaining that the DJ was playing nothing but fast music. (The DJ is good about playing requests, though.) I love to fast lindy, but as you said, not everyone can do it. The slower songs let you do some great styling.

Not at all. In fact, it's funny you should mention Keds; that's a pretty common choice of shoe. If they are too sticky on the floor, a temporary solution is to put some duct tape on the bottoms. (Good luck getting it off, though.)

Even stupider looking is bopping around during a smooth, sensitive song.

    The Swing Movement

My swing dance uniform is a feminine t-shirt and a cotton skirt. A skirt flows well and t-shirts are easy to clean and replace. They don't bind and the tail doesn't come out from my skirt, since I don't tuck them in. I have a quirk that doesn't allow me to dance, or even read my dance notes...

There's more to it than that, but that's the main thing. I don't expect a total stranger to come up and say something brilliant or hilarious. Oh, and I like guys who are a little geeky. Huge earning power has nothing to do with it.

I'm glad--I didn't mean any. I think it's great to learn how to meet people to have more friendships or a relationship, which is what you are trying to do. As for guys who learn this to use and discard people, most women who use their instincts know they're looking at a lounge lizard.

    eco-friendly

:offtopic: I haven't tried that, no. But I like their facial cleanser (the one with olive oil and orange). Way cheaper than DHC's olive oil cleanser.
