BATTLE OF BRITAIN (1940) - Respecting THE FEW.

You are so right, Tim. A bad cover can spoil everything. I actually did not buy a book once, because of a bad cover design - filled with faults like you just mention. It's a shame wwhen the author goes through a lot of trouble to get everything right - and the designer just doesn't give a...

    The story of a pilot

Unfortunately not. I had contact with one of his sons, a daughter and the grandson. Only the grandson send me some links to pictures, I allready knew the existence of. But the search goes on - I have just ordered this new book written by Neil, who flew with Lewis in 249 sq. There might be...

    Ascots

You are so right, Tim. And I would be very careful if I had to buy one - in fact, it's more the style I like. I think a striped cravat looks really smart. So I just might be better off with a non-school, non regimental pattern. In that case I could always tell people that it was from Vanløse...

Who else collects the M1 Garand?

I have no interset in guns or collecting guns - but it might be interesting to you who are into these things, that the M1 was still the standard rifle in the danish army when I did my national service in 1967. So - yes, I have fired a M1 several times. And I do remember it as a very reliable...

    British white mug question

Yes you do! They get hot like h...! I remember beck when I was a boyscout, we had a trip to UK and camped out in Yorkshire somewhere together with our English "friendtroop" from Nottingham. All the smart English boyscouts had these white (ex-army) metal cups and we really wanted some too...

    Overcoat from Magnoli

Just found this rather fantastic overcoat from Magnoli - anybody done business or bought from them in the past? http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/chicago-overcoat-overcoats-p-209.html The coat is just the one I've been looking for for several years. Anybody of you know of other dealers/shops.

Hangers... Do you hang your leather jackets on them?

My A2's goes on hangers - as large as possible and with broad shoulderends. My Irvin goes in a chair or on the bed or on the floor. Hanging a heavy sheepskin jacket on a hanger would probably spoil both the shape and the skin.

are your kids bigger than you?

No. Two sons. First one 32 - second one 22 and none of them are as tall as I am. But I am also pretty tall. (1,92 m.) But I reckon they will be, when I start to "shrink" with old age.
