    Irvin from Aviation Leathercraft

It's a 52" chest, UK/USA inches. With one inch extra in the length on the body. Irvins are supposed to be short - but being 6ft 4 I ordered a bit extra.

What cigar (or pipe) did you smoke today?

Just realise that I have not smoked a cigar in 4 weeks:eek: Joke aside - I have made an effort to stop smoking small cigarillos - which in my mind are nothing but cigarettes. And smoked just as easily. And I guesse I am over the worst now and can - someday - have a cigar and enjoy it...

    D1 or Irvin

Which suddenly reminds me: The Irvin I wore in Rome was from WPG (What Price Glory) - they do not cost as much as ELC or AERO, are in a thinner sheepskin and not at all as bulky. They are pretty close to the originals too and I think Jerry has solved the beginners problems with them. (Zippers...

    D1 or Irvin

Think about it this way: The Irvin was made for pilots - working in tight cockpits. The D1 was made for groundcrews walking around on the ground. Now which do you really, really want? ;)

    Favorite Uniforms

Must be the lack of uniformity and preference of a personal touch as shown by RAF fighter pilots during the Battle of Britain. Seamens/navy sweaters, pyjamas, schoolscarfs, pullovers, top button undone...everything worked. On both sides really: Later in the desert...

    Piece of art

I am pretty sure that all modern "WWII" artists use photographs to paint from - that's the only way. What else can they do? That - and modelplanes. I have some books with the famous Robert Taylor's artworks and sketches. There are several sketches that I recognice as photos, I have seen...
