Even if you did everything carefully, if some of your things are ruined, it could make it very uncomfortable living with your housemate. I can see it ending up that she moves out and you'd have to pay all the rent and utilities until you found another roommate. So much for the extra cash! My...
I like the high standards of the FL. If we were living in a very decorous age, I might agree with KittyT that we might benefit from loosening up. Even I tell dirty jokes and listen to blue songs. But we live in a crass age with little subtlety. If we wanted to loosen up, we could turn on the TV...
Keep in mind that some forums don't retain old threads. If that's what you're used to, you probably won't bother to look.
No matter how many rules you make, it won't keep a few people from being obnoxious. I suspect that anyone inclined to start a lot of unnecessary new threads would also...
I made drawer dividers, too (although not as attractive--I just cut up a sturdy carboard box). It works great.
I'll have to try the earring ribbon idea.
If I remember correctly, the 15-posts-before-you-can-PM rule was intended to stop trolls from sending inflammatory messages to people.

To correct unimportant points is unnecessary and ham-handed. Someone I know...
A few years ago, when I was turning 36 or 37, I went to a more elegant look. I really didn't want to turn into that middle-aged woman who was trying hard to look 25. With that said, I think long hair and vivid colors can look great on the less-young. It's much better than the menopausal helmet...
What happened? The attitude of "me, me, me," which as Bernie Brillstein points out, is "dull, dull, dull." There are many other factors, of course, but to my mind, that is the main one.
Before we get carried away, let's remember that some things are much better nowadays. Handicapped people...
If I understand right, it sounds like they are just doing a little more pruning than before, not digging up the whole tree and planting a new one. And that here, as everywhere else in the world, people who've built up some credibility are cut a little more slack.
Two last-minute suggestions:
"Blue Skies." A couple of my favorite versions are by Benny Goodman and Ella Fitzgerald.
"Moten Swing." I think the '58 version by Count Basie is the best. No lyrics, but as classy as it gets.
