Fastuni, yes, those are all decent spaced 3 buttons. the type of British 3 button that (for me) looks a bit odd is this on the left: i still have a fondness for these jackets as they're pretty much the standard Burtons peaked lapel cut, but the lapels always look a bit too short to me...

Rudie, i don't like low button stances either, but 2 button doesn't necessarily equate to low. have you posted your late 20s - early 30s German suit on here ?

1930s SB 3-Button Odd Jacket With Flecks and Patch Pockets Sz. 38

Fastuni, for my money a lot of the 3 button European SBs also have too high a top button, leading to a strangely shortened lapel (to my eye). that's why i prefer 2 buttons.

Baron, have you unpicked the lining and seen the canvas slashes, or can you just feel them ? you need to speak to Qirrel about canvas modification. i understand adding drape to the pattern, but i'm unsure about the canvas (whether the canvas needs extra 'V's and whatnot).

    Coat/Jacket length?

i'm less inclined to go with the shorter jacket these days (read: as i get older). i saw a couple of gents in 1940s British DBs at Goodwood not long ago and while they looked splendid overall i thought the rear view of the shorter jacket wasn't helping. sometimes the lower seat of a pair of...
