I like Denver: low taxes, low humidity, few bugs, lots of jobs, lots of swing dancing. The climate is good for gardening, as long as you don't insist on growing woodland plants. Oh, and bars and restaurants are non-smoking.
It's pretty clean, too: there's a $500 fine for littering.
Winters...
Until hats do come back, they're sartorially quirky. A government office isn't really the place to make a splash, and as we've seen here, fedoras worn indoors doesn't sit well with everyone. Customers who are put off by it probably won't say anything, though.
ETA: All those bad dressers we...
I don't think a fedora looks right indoors unless it's worn by a professional musician at a gig. Maybe it's my military background.
Additionally, anyone who is from the South may find it odd as well. Genteel Southerners--and even some not-so-genteel ones--pride themselves on good manners...
I'm pretty lean and fit and even my thighs have a little...bumpiness. I just cover it up.
However, when I started lifting weights and doing step aerobics about five years ago, a LOT of that hail damage disappeared.
Try Benny Goodman and some other stuff from the 30s. Also, Roy Eldridge, Woody Herman, Harry James. Some recommended songs: Minor Swing (Django Reinhart), Flying Home (Lionel Hampton), Jumpin' at the Woodside (can't remember who played it). Even Glenn Miller did some songs that were more hot...
My house used to be that color, but it faded badly in the Colorado sun.
I think you need more of a pure, lemony yellow than you might imagine, rather than ivory.
