This is the jacket I'm wearing today. It's 53% rayon, 42% linen and 5% metallic. The fabric is purposely a little rumpled (as in texture, not slept-in). It feels great on!

My dad continued wearing jeans and western shirts, the style he grew up in and went to work in, but my mom was happy to wear polyester clothes that didn't need to be ironed.
I've always been very prone to chapped lips and live in a dry climate. By "chapped," I mean cracked and bleeding. I've tried other lip balms, but Carmex is the only one that works for me.
I've never heard that salicylic acid is a drying agent.
First, far fewer people lived in the southwest then; maybe most of the summer pictures were taken in the north. Second, buildings had operating windows, and humans can tolerate hot fresh air better than hot stale air. Maybe they just acclimated to the heat.
Another factor that made sunbathing popular and supposedly "healthy" was that TB patients used to come West and sit in the sun at hospitals. Apparently, the warm, dry air was therapeutic for them.
The guards' job is public safety. Their appearance should make them easily identified as guards, and look like they should be taken seriously. Polos and khakis don't fit the bill.
