    Countdown To Thanksgiving

Not ready at all. Not a tradition o'er here either. (Christmas is the big thing)

What cigar (or pipe) did you smoke today?

More than a year has gone by - and still not smoking. Some times I miss the atmosphere around lighting up a cigar - but not enough to do it.

    Any Do's & Don'ts in military clothing?

    But flying boots are ok.

    Any Do's & Don'ts in military clothing?

I have a Irvin jacket, a pair of RAF 1936 pattern flying boots, a RAF Battledress jacket (Came with pilot wings, DFC ribbon and squadron Leader stripes) - and even a RAF officers cap. I also have a RAF leather flying helmet with goggles. And although I love all of it, I NEVER EVER wear it all...

    Movember Mo - who's in?

Thank you Edward - you could try this: http://dk.movember.com/mospace/1458882 Or do a search for me (Søren Parup) on the international site! (edit) Just tried that - with no result. Must be the problem with the "ø" and the "o" - so no luck on the international site - there is only the danish...

    Movember Mo - who's in?

Well I am - in memory of my cousin, who died far too early of prostate cancer. And then I also get a chance to grow a mustache without my wife complaining :) Join the movement - make a difference: http://uk.movember.com/

New book claims Hitler and Eva Braun fled Berlin and died (divorced) of old age in Ar

I know for a fact that Hitler is dead. Saint Peter told me. "When he arrived at the gate to heaven, I offered him the choice between hell and a second chance to go back to earth and do things right. After thinking about it Adolf said he would go back to earth.... "But this time, no more mister...

Touchy impression or a part of war that must be told???

I did serve my 14 month of national service. Drafted as I was. No war, no nothing - not in Denmark anyway. Does that make me a "veteran"? I think not. Found it a lot a time wasted on nothing. Waiting around for someone to tell you what to do next. That's why I don't do reenacting. I did it for...

BATTLE OF BRITAIN (1940) - Respecting THE FEW.

Just want to share this rather nice drawing of a BoB Hurricane - flown by Albert Gerald Lewis/85 Squadron - among others.

BATTLE OF BRITAIN (1940) - Respecting THE FEW.

Great news! But it's a tough act to follow. The 1968 version was - and still is - with a few minor things like the model Stukas - a great movie.

Touchy impression or a part of war that must be told???

And an impression of WWII History of the guys who handled soap, towels, new underwear etc for the GIs. And while we are at it - an impression of the guys who arranged all the hookers and brothels in Italy, France, The Netherlands etc. :-) No, seriously: I think everybody is aware of all the...

Promising Trailer For Alt WW2 Drama ‘Resistance’

I wonder if it isn't possible to watch it as a story on what went on in all occupied countries - instead of looking for the historic facts on UK in 1944 ? I am definitely going to see it when it comes up in Denmark.

    My fathers war

Thank you all for your all too kind words. I just want you all to know, that I did not write this in order to glorify my father, myself or my family in any way. Instead it was a way to tell the not-so-often-told part of WWII as it probably happened in many occupied countries, where the war was...

    Best WWII museums

Ahhh - but the question is, did you find it? In Caen: The fantastic Musee de la Paix is a must! Great museum and a thoughtful experience. In Bayeux: The D-Day Museum - a more traditionel - but great museum.
