Ink on a hat liner; removal or keepsake ?

Pardon the second posting... I just had another thought. :D I'm reminded of an individual in vintage watch repair I know and have talked to on occasion. Several years ago, I discussed with him the thoughts of getting my name and high school graduation date engraved on a vintage pocket...

Ink on a hat liner; removal or keepsake ?

Honestly, unless the ink was posing some sort of real issue (smearing in my hair, etc. ) I would probably keep it. The fact that someone wrote their name and address, allowing you to see it was once near your home now, is actually pretty cool and unique. I've seen discussions come...

    Maltese Falcon

Here is a snapshot from the movie showing Spade's desk. In looking around online, the only type of Private Investigator certificate that resembles the certificate shown on the wall in this photo is actually the Pinkerton logo, as shown below. There may be a few others. I would...

I'll probably pick one up at some point soon. I haven't seen it since the theaters. Anyone who views the special features any time soon, feel free to post what sorts of things are included.

    Pilgrim's Pride

Oops! ...and just one more. I realized I've never taken a good picture of the loop on this hat's ribbon on the side. ;)

    Pilgrim's Pride

Finally! As promised, I was able to snap a few pictures of the insides of my Pilgrim this evening. I have always figured this hat was from the 60's, as I have heard this was the decade when alternatives to ribbons were at their peak (such as the rope style ribbon on mine). That...

Class rings, onetime popular mementos, losing popularity

I got my high school class ring about halfway through my junior year of high school, and being a ring-wearer since the start of high school, I wore my high school ring all the way through to graduation. Even after graduation, I wore it, but turned around facing away from me (as the tradition...

    Crazy driving in 1939!

Those are amazing. Very entertaining. I guess that shows how dangerous a newer technology can be. Now I need to see if I can find the names of the soundtracks in these videos.

    Sort of the ANTI-Fedora Lounge . . .

I've seen that website before. I have to admit, it's one of the few websites I've visited that literally hurts my eyes to see, but that I can't seem to tear myself away from easily if I start looking.

    Film Noir?

Another nice one, Paddy! Was that your classic car in the video? That's a beauty!

Vintage Things That Have Disappeared In Your Lifetime?

That's awesome! A very good use for a vintage phone booth. I'm with everyone on missing old fashion phone "rings". I've never used any other ringtone than an old fashioned bell ring on my cell phone.

    My own hat model

That's awesome! Sort of on the same page in regards to an agreement I have with myself that if I ever find a hat in an antique store that happens to have my exact initials on the sweatband, I'll have to buy it. Even MORE so if the hat fits. That's a great looking Borsalino!
