Restoring my Grandmother's Singer Sewing Machine

That part is in the manual so i'm pretty sure I did it right, I'll give it another go and double check everything but I f needles aren't available for the future, I may just pass this on to a collector.

Restoring my Grandmother's Singer Sewing Machine

Yeah, there's a needle in there and the size is 177-1. I've had an auto search going on Ebay for 6 months and not a single hit for the machine or needles. Funny thing is that's where I got it, made an offer and drove a half hour to pick it up. This machine turns smoothly, no missing parts...

Restoring my Grandmother's Singer Sewing Machine

Notice that the two tension disks are sandwiched together and the thread guide is directly vertical from them. It is the shape of the head that requires such an odd position for the tension. Again, I'm very familiar with machines like yours to the point where I modify them in various ways to...

Restoring my Grandmother's Singer Sewing Machine

I've got a Singer model 177-2, from what little info I can find, it was intended for use in barber shops for mending / darning towels and other items. I can't find needles, parts, or very much info on it, just the manual. From that I threaded the machine but couldn't get it to stitch. I'm pretty...

    My New Goodwear No-Name 42-18246-p

Only time I had to deal with that is buying a 200- Cooper G-1 in a 48 regular. I'm 6'1" and the sleeves and torso were just too short. Neil was kind enough to switch it out for a 48 long and it fit nicely. I'm actually a 46 long but I like slightly oversize or even a little too big. Short is...

What is your favorite aircraft of all time?

Me too, all models right up to the radar fitted Korean War version. Favorite would be USMC birdcage in all intermediate blue. They looked rugged and tough as nails when the paint discolored and all the panels stood out.

Grandfathers Flight Jacket. Repro questions **Pictures**

Wow! Top Notch. How does one get in touch with him and does he have a website? I'm always looking for a place to refer someone for this kind of work.

Grandfathers Flight Jacket. Repro questions **Pictures**

Thanks, By the way guys, it is not my intention with the last line and photos to promote or sell my nose art here. I really am just trying to point out how true artists need to be compensated for their efforts and abilities. I just happen to be confident enough to say take it or leave it. Can't...

Grandfathers Flight Jacket. Repro questions **Pictures**

I just read through this entire thread and will give my thoughts as a patch and nose art painter that turned focus on the multi-piece leather method. Quoting Joel because I just covered this same topic in another forum. First of all, years ago I pretty much put my paints and brushes away after...

    AVG Patches

Any chance of seeing the Burmese chit? I've got a couple going right now, one custom ordered and the other for me since I'm already making one. Here's an M422 by Gibson & Barnes I did last week. It's based on an original AVG jacket but I fine tuned the angel a bit.

Very nice, I imagine you could find the wing badge and replace it. I'm not one for adding to an original piece but in this case.

Hey guys, I'm Sean from a2jacketpatches, first day on this forum and second post. I just put a bunch of my personal favorites in a Squadron Patch thread here. Anyway, to shed some light on this subject, I have the Pistole book. It's got a lot of cool pics of original items showing a few...

Jim Buchanan and A2 Jacket Patches

Hey guys, my first post here at TFL, what better place than this thread considering it is my life work. My occupation and recreation all at the same time. I've done thousands of Squadron Patches over the last decade but here's a few of my favorites.
