Thanks for taking the time to complement me on the Gannon today, fellas. I saw it there on the display stand and was thinking it needed more head time!
Wow, you look so natural in that hat, Eric! ;) Super cool pic, too!
Well, thank you so very much! If you go to Michael Gannon's website I think he has one of these for sale. He calls it The Rodolfo after @Chamuco here on the FL.
Nearly all the "cheap" hats I see here in the US are pretty junky and are not blocked/creased in the usual fedora way. By the time the hats are imported and creased by a US hatter, the price goes up considerably.
You might check with Art Fawcett at Vintage Silhouettes to see what he has...
Great hats today, gents. Getting cold at night now, down to 37 degrees F. I picked the Gannon now officially called the Rodolfo on Michael's website. Black Cherry felt, 5-3/4" open crown, 2-5/8" bound brim and double highlights in the bow.
.
As I understand it, he was ripped off pretty bad on the Ecuador side of things and it bankrupted his business.
I've picked up hats and hat bodies when my wife and I travel to visit her family there but just carried back what I could. I have some connections now, but have not ordered anything...
It looks beautiful. I think either offering price falls in the fair/reasonable range. Are there size tags, etc, under the brim? Box?
Anyway, a beautiful Homburg. St Regis Royal Deluxe is one of my favorite styles. Best of luck with your sale.
I have his Everyman non-Indy in Granite and I like the color a lot. It has cool undertones of brown and such depending on the light. I will say the felt on his Indy Everyman is better quality, though. I hope any new releases of his Everyman has him ordering from his vendor from the Indy hat...
