What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Thanks Jonas. The leather’s 3 mm, and wears comfortably for it’s cut and 6.68 lbs. Feels like wearing a jacket made from a weighted blanket. That’s so boss. I really enjoy your WJAYWT shots - keep ‘em coming!

I am trying to get a jacket custom re-created - does this style of collar have a name?

+1 Pea coat or trench coat collar. Search also for Ulster coat. If you’re working with Aero on the custom job, ask them to ID the collar in the photo.

How many of you guys ordered from the Aero sale?

This forum is driving up Aero prices! More seriously, this increase is commensurate with peers in the space (e.g. LL, RMC). Curious to see what Greg/FL, Thedi and others do over the coming months/years. Those of you who ordered from the sale came away with more than a 15% savings.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Nice! I was wondering if you might break yours out  The bull hide is a workout, especially in comparison to my deerskin and suede jackets; however, I love it. As you shared, the pattern’s great, and it’s nice to wear. I consider the high armhole on the 3 mm hide an enabling feature. You...

    Five Star Leather Jackets

I’m reading the above as visible pores = top grain, which is an argument I’m having trouble following. My understanding from the following reference is visible pores = full grain, and sanding tends to remove hair pores. Another page goes into more detail about leather hair pores and hair...

New forum member brand (Rugged West)

@TartuWolf, I’m curious what Leilah’s thoughts are on the fit, eg. what works on the stock jacket and what she suggests changing; and subsequently your wife’s thoughts on these. Outside of a conversation between Leilah and your wife, I feel out of place to comment.

Thank you for the detailed account. It sounds like a positive experience. The additional surcharges for pattern adjustment and shipping are commensurate with my experience of Japanese makers. Good luck with the two-week wait, and please report back. I expect the jacket to be beautifully made.

Did you connect with ELS on your earlier questions about international shipping and lead time? Wondering what your experience of them has been so far. For your Highway, did you go stock or custom garment measurements?
