A little off topic, but somewhat shooting related....Mythbusters just put a cannonball through two houses and a minivan.....oops

The old Colt was a good looker. But it was the perfect choice to "Fitz" as you did. For those of you unfamiliar with "Fitz" he was a Colt Representative in the first half of the 20th century,

His modifications included bobbing the hammer and...
I found some very nice grips for a S&W revolver, and my folks decided they wanted to get them for me, so I'm good. Just hope to hear "Merry Christmas" more often and less "Happy Holidays" [yes I'm cantankerous].
Giftmacher, that is a very handsome phone.
Argee, splendid job on the restoration. I picked up an old rotary at a flea market that is in need of some TLC, do you do outside work?
Annoyed, forgot my usual carry fountain pens for work today and had to run into the store and grabbed a cheapie roller ball. By the end of the day I was really missing my FPs!
R'down, I see what you mean now. I have carried a Commander before with a Bianchi IWB holster, so we both understand the appeal of guns that are easier to carry.
And JKing, that Vetterli is fine!

We always have a large get together at our home, anywhere from 15-30 people. Everyone brings something then we play games, watch football, some of the girls plan their "Attack shopping" for Black Friday. I usually wind up sitting on the floor with my great nieces, reading to them til they conk out.
Going by my own household at the holidays, I am the big, bearlike uncle, whose voice at first scares the little kids, then 2 hours later can't get off the couch because 2 of them are asleep on my lap!
Also, please drop in over at www.surplusrifleforum.com and say hello. I'm a moderator there and we are a very friendly, laid back place. I have one of the DGFM Argentine 45s and it is still a great shooter. Also, on the C96s, most have lousy bores in either caliber, I am thinking about having my...
Boy, I miss 2 days and you guys are posting some gorgeous stuff! Yup, Broomies are a pain to put back together compared to more modern guns, but there is only one other gun that gets as much attention on the range and that's a Tommygun. Love the FEG and the new S&W, looks like a fine shooter.
For value, very hard to beat a Cross or Waterman FP. I am a huge fan of Pelikans, and if you can find a 150 they are fantastic daily writers for a very reasonable price.
