I posted this on VLJ. Maybe this will help.
This information is from Roger Moore's old web site.
1950s G-1 Jackets
As noted above the first G-1 spec was the 55J14 which was manufactured from 1947 to 1961. These jackets very collectible and only slightly less desireable than the earlier...
Thor is right, the 7823 AER, A, B and C are some of the best G-1s. Real mouton collars, single ply rib rack waistband and some of the nicest goatskin ever. Most can still be worn daily.
Regards,
I own four of these, an early Cagleco 7823, Foster 7823A, Foster 7823C and 7823D. This "C" has the best feeling goat skin and fits the best. My go to G-1.

Just saw this and thought someone might be interested. No affiliation with seller.
Thor,
I got a J-7823(Aer), J-7823A and J-7823C, which I'm happy with. Now seeing your M-422a fit pictures, I have to add this one to the collection. Just outstanding, well done sir.
I apologized, not much more I can do.
Not really a new member either, just one month less than you. I don't post much. Really irrelevant though.
Good luck with your search for the N-1 and have a blessed day.
