    Insurrection, Seattle, WA

Insurrection is a great shop, and Wade and the gang really are good people. I ordered a jacket via phone, and it showed up absolutely perfect, just as promised. A rare shop that "gets it". Anyone who wants a Vanson, I suggest you buy from Insurrection, and save yourself the grief of dealing...

Anyone get their new Vanson delivered recently?

USED TO love Vanson products. Just went through a situation with them, I now have to say THEY SUCK, and THEY SUCK!....did I mention THEY SUCK? Screw Vanson, I'm done.

How much do you like your new Lewis Leathers Jacket?

The Vanson Chopper in Nickle hardware is just badazz: http://www.vanson.jp/file/Front(80).jpg http://www.vanson.jp/file/Back(80).jpg http://www.vanson.jp/file/Side(58).jpg http://www.vanson.jp/file/Front2(5).jpg

    Opinion on Motorcycle Jacket Padding?

This is of course a matter of choice. My personal opinion is that while those padded jackets look macho in pictures and have "all the bells and whistles", they honestly look rediculous on an actual person. The elbow pads are not bad at all, but the shoulder padding adds to the shoulder height...

Has Anyone Seen a Vanson Colorado?

Let me rephrase. The CHPQ has the appearance of a Padded Columbia, without the padding being overdone and external. The arm openings have the football types to allow lots of movement, it is not tight or small arm openings like a Enfield or Comet. Yes, Vanson makes beautiful jackets, and the...

Has Anyone Seen a Vanson Colorado?

The Colorado is known as the CHPQ, as it is a Vanson CHP "Quilted". These are some Japanese pics. Much like a watered-down Langlitz Padded Columbia, it has huge under-arm footballs: http://www.leather-brand.com/kawajan/vanson/chpq.html

My Vanson Comet in brown horsehide

Wow, that jacket is beautiful in Brown HH.

    Vanson Enfield

For those who want great pictures of Vanson jackets, here is their Japan distributors website: http://www.vanson.jp/cart.cgi?cmd=s&sc=ca1 Note: The only Horsehide jackets on the Japan site are some weird thin lightweight horsehide that the Japanese spec'd out, and I once talked to Vanson...

Looking for my dream M/C jacket

If you mean biswings as in pleats or bi-swing back, I ride every day and a properly fitted non-bi swing back catches zero wind, unlike a bi-swing which catches wind like a superman cape.

    Just acquired Vanson Comet

I gave up on dealing directly with Vanson when I wanted a Comet. I called there and everyone (although very nice) seemed like they were on a coffee break and were so ho-hum, and every question I asked lead to them say: "it will be 6 months for a custom blah, blah, blah". I got turned on to...

Looking for my dream M/C jacket

Wow, thank you for that link from "The Few".....that thing is amazing!!! Too bad it has a bi-swing, but I am going to inquire about it. Yes, a $900 Schott is nearing a Langlitz Columbia pricing...yikes, and I don't want anyone "aging" my jacket except mother nature and time. What I really...

Looking for my dream M/C jacket

Okay, this is funny, I create this thread today after months of looking for a jacket of this sort, then I call my favorite vintage jacket guru to tell him what I am looking for, and he says "hey Schott just released close to what you want"...

Looking for my dream M/C jacket

Don't know if this deserves a whole thread, but here it goes. I want a vintage style M/C Jacket for my collection, but I just can't find what I want, other than on Japanese sites where I know their patterns are cut a bit weird for Americans, not to mention I am not a size 38. I am a huge fan...

    Vanson Help

Wow!!!!! Sounds awesome. I cannot describe how well made these Vanson's are, and the wonderful fit. You are going to have one amazing jacket with that one. Any chance they can install the older style plaid lining in yours? I wish mine had that rather than the black rayon (?) stuff.

    Vanson Help

I'm not trying to be a salesman here, but I cannot stress enough how different a Vanson Comet becomes when it is ordered with +2 or +3 inches added on to the body length (depending on your height), and when the dual zipper is added.

    Vanson Help

I just got a Comet in 42, and I must say it is snug, but I also have to say,for riding a motorcycle, snug is GOOD. Now if you want a dress jacket, then go one size up. The B Model is a beautiful jacket, you will love it. Just be careful, if you REALLY want to use it for actual motorcycle...

    Schott 650 Military DB Jacket

I am thinking of picking up the Schott 650 Double Breasted Military Jacket. http://www.schottnyc.com/products/men/peacoat/double-breasted-military-leather-jacket.htm I have used the search function, cannot find threads on this garment. Anyone have any pictures being worn, and comments...

    Vanson Enfield vs Schott 689H

It appears the Enfield in Horsehide has a more subtle and smaller windflap? http://www.vansonleathers.com/images/jackets/comt-hrse-w_knny.jpg My recent Comet has a full length subtle windflap that looks great open. I guess the question is, why such large windflaps? Yikes!!! I ride...

    Vanson Enfield vs Schott 689H

I do not own both, so please bear with my pro-Vanson opinion. I think the issue right off the bat with the Schott is the massive wind flap that Schott installs. The Vanson looks uber-clean without it. Also, the statement I've seen from Schott owners about the stiff glued-in matting...
