yeah, I dont really wear thongs.. I am not into that.
I wear regular low rise VS "no panty line" undies and dont really have a problem with them showing.
not that i have noticed. I will be checking now though./ lol
OOH johanna, Isaw your pin curl set on Livejournal.
I am trying it tonight to see if I can make my pin curls work.
they always turn out silly looking.
heres hoping!
why not healthy? forgive my ignorance.
Try as I might, I love vintage clothes, but I cant get into the undies.
I want to like them, and I LOVE the bras.. but the undies, riding that high, is sucha bother.
I guess Its wired into my brain from growing up in the low rise generation...
my...
i usually get nice comments, last night my niece told me I looked like "an old fashioned movie"
;)
My hubby on the other hand.. I was lamenting about having to sell a bunch of dresses to pay bills. and he tells me , he never really liked any of them anyway. and they didnt "do anything"...
I have been hunting for this pattern for a while now because its printed..
I WAS SO SHOCKED and sad to see this:

I am so sad. I really wanted that pattern. and now its glued to a box. lol.[huh]
Its been so long since I have posted on here. 2 kids will do that to ya :D
anyway, I tried some "curling iron finger waves" and didnt like them, so I pulled it up like SO:
I have had that happen at some local estate sales around here.
its like they think I am gonna get all the goodies so they are rude and quick and try to get ahead of me.
Its not a friendly club we are in.. aparently. hahahah lol
Be careful, most of their fabric is broadcloth or woven cotton (like quilting cotton) and its not great for sewing clothes, WEll. maybe a shirt.. but I have a few skirtsout of it. adn it wrinkles terribly and does not drape well :(
LOL sorry, I meant Giant, as in large. lol
but its, Fabric Depot.. on sandy.. I am sure you have been there. they ahve a nice little selection of gabardine!
i am working on a lovely full skirt from teh 40s, I will have it done today and post it.
But i wanted to tell you guys about a website I found with cheap fabric, and they have the CUTEST seersucker prints.
www.denverfabrics.com
just incase you were wondering :)
oh and They have taffeta...
also, we have a local GINAT fabric store, that has a decent selection of gabardine, has anyone used that.. do you like it?
:offtopic: sorry for hijacking the thread, I am done now. :eusa_doh:
tose are soooo lovely.
to bad like a PP said, you cant get rayons like that anymore :(
the only prints like that are in quilting cottons, and i have made a few skirts out of that stuff... its NOT fun to wear.
when you guys sew vintage, what fabrics do you use?
I am thinking I might...
hey I know this is not really a sale
but I saw this and thought of you ladies (it wont fit me )
and its a REALLLLLY good price!

I remember them!
I got the bet shoes on their last summer, for like 15 bucks!
Remember it was like all anyone could talk about last summer on here :) the negative free shipping!?!?!
I am SO bummed. I want a pair of Navy pants SO bad.
and there is a pair on ebay, ACTUALLY in MY SIZE (unheard of !)
and I cant buy them cos I am 8 months pregannt, and totally broke.
they are FANTASTIC!
I am so depressed
I feel you. the sniping thing has made it to where I WONT shop on ebay unless I desperately need said item.
I think its unfair and makes it hard to play by the rules. IMO.
I hate the fact that I wait patiently, and I bid at the last minute, and someone who is not even at their computer at that...
isint that funny... If i dress 40s, they say, oh look at that little 50s lady!
and if I dress 50s, everyone assumes I am a flapper or something from the 20s.. people are so funny about what they remember from history.
its not online anymore :(
I saw them too in a picture, but not in the actual store.
adn I wanted them SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO badly.
and now I can not find them :rage:
