Thank you very much for sharing these precious memories with us! It makes me sad to think how close we are to losing these living memories. Luckily we have the technology to at least record their words and thoughts.

Chris,
I too am just seeing the news of your father's passing want to offer my condolences as well. I remember well how he was scooting everywhere he could at Reading and seemed to be having a great time. He held up better in the heat than I did!
August 3 is the one year anniversary of...

Bitterness is evident more often in unfulfilled, unhappy, sad men and women who have not taken advantage of the opportunities available to all now, not just a select few, as in the past. loving men or not has nothing to do about feminism. We are not bitter about anything. That is long past. men...
Mrs. Merl - Noone is badmouthing you or your choices, but to say women today are not the beneficiaries of the hard work of feminists is just plain wrong. My grandmother, and many other of our grandmothers, were married to alcoholics or abusers or other troubled men, and had no other option for...
Ladies,
Sorry, but i am sick to death with women blaming Feminists for every woe you experience because your life is not just like little June Cleaver. We are all forgetting that without the bravery, innovations and determination of our feminist foremothers we would not have the right to own...

I'll try the cheap one!

While I wasn't thrilled with "The War" as a whole, I very clearly remember Mr. Aanenson's touching memories as a pilot. His struggles over the years to come to grips with his past.
Remarkable man made that much more remarkable by telling his story to us all.

Big Lots Xmas
I was in one in hagerstown, mD found a huge cache of 40s/crooner/Rat Pack christmas cds. Also the 1946 Abbott and Costello Christmas radio show all for $4 each. Plenty of repeats in the titles, i'm sure, but worth checking out at that price!

That dress by Lea Anne was absolutely fabulous:eusa_clap . Vintage inspired has definitely been a theme in this year's crop on PR, esp. Kenley who is definitely a vintage gal! Lea Anne is the quiet, mousy one who may take the whole thing. That girl has got serious talent when it is needed...
