Many people have an image of the later years of "mod" english fashion, such as paisley shirts under a suit or frills or ruffles and such. As cool as that is, it is not the original mod attire. -
Never Button the Bottom Button
Most vintage vests have the bottom button not in line with the rest. It is clearly meant to be decorative, as it narrows right where you are starting to get wider below your natural waist, at least for a slim guy. if you button the bottom button of a vintage vest, it will clearly be all wrong... -

I agree with the Baron. Seems English or European. No American suit of this era would have had the small pleat. What doe the bottoms look like? Taper? Very trim? Cuff? Don't feel too bad. This is a pretty sharp suit that would be sought after by any number of aficionados. -

I will say, after looking closely at the suits, you just don't get these fine touches in even the best off the rack. Things like surgeons cuffs, etc. Also, the style is so traditional but also can be so individualistic. For example, one of the suits from the 70s has vents at the shoulders for... -
