    Well, I did a good cleaning with a small steamer and Scouts dark hat cleaner and it worked like a charm. No musty/smokey odor and the finish is as soft as a bunnies bum.     Douglas, I thoroughly enjoy it. It has a couple of moth nibbles and will need a bit of a cleaning to get the musty odor out, but all in all a very nice hat. The ribbon on it looks practically new as does the wind trolley. I can fully understand why you enjoy these hats. Cheers! Dan
