My visit to Aero was on September 19. On Monday, October 9th, my jacket left Scotland and yesterday (Oct. 11th) it arrived at my house in California! I cheated a bit by placing my order online a couple weeks before my trip, but indicated that I would be visiting and making final decisions then...
I had a great visit to the Aero Leather shop in late September. We were dropping off a friend at the Edinburgh airport prior to a stay in Edinburgh for a few days at the end of a Scotland trip. We did a detour to Galashiels and I spent an hour or so trying on different jackets and deciding what...
Quite right you are! I forget that on the Aero site, when you click on a particular Lochcarron Tartan, the photo changes but "Royal Stewart" keeps showing in the drop-down menu.
While I no longer listen to bands like GBH or Chron Gen, other bands of that era hold up well IMO. Some bands like the Buzzcocks might seem more New Wave than punk now, but back then we didn't distinguish between the two very much. I still love listening to them, the Jam, the Clash, Stiff Little...
I understand your point, but where is the Highwayman back is supposed to end traditionally, and how much change equals "mucking around"? Adding 1" longer than average doesn't seem like it would change proportions much, vs. adding 4". I'm guessing what I'm thinking of might be 1-2" more than...
I had been wondering if it was possible to get a LHB without flap pockets, and now I know! Makes it hard to decide between this option or a Highwayman (which I'd try to get a tad longer than standard, about to the top of my back 501 jean pockets). Hmmm.....
It may be tight in the front, but look at the billowing in the back just above the ribbing. Others have commented on sleeve length as well. The fact that you don't see much or any of the ribbing ("tunneling" is the term I just learned thanks to this thread) shows that the sleeve length is too long.
The inside pictures show "Fine Weave," but their site lists a Fine Brisa weave and a (slightly more expensive) Fine Llano weave. Do you know which yours is? Thanks, and very nice hat. I agree with FedOregon though that just because some Panamas can be rolled, doesn't mean it's a good idea...
I think Scorsese's "After Hours" is a brilliant black comedy, but it rarely gets mentioned alongside his more well-known masterpieces. It's funny, disturbing and even a bit scary at times, with brillant performances by Griffin Dunne, Rosanna Arquette, Linda Fiorentino, John Hurd, Terri Garr...
