Does anyone know what is happening to Top Secret Hats? The closing down message on their website is somewhat mysterious. Is someone else taking it on or are they changing tack with their products? Are any of you in dealings with them?!
Very sad to see that www.topsecrethats.com is closing down. Does anyone know why? They've never let me down with my orders and have given impeccable service - more than can be said for most! They still have the Adventurers & Swerfords available but it seems not for much longer and only in sable...
I do sometimes see hats or caps in films or on celebrities and try to find one similar, but not because I want to be like them, just because I like their hat!
:)
Hi TipTop, I can't decide which to go for. I like the Regimental Panama too - I think Band 2. I'm planning on doing a big order as long as it doesn't bump the delivery up too much - think I'll get a few presents & maybe some caps even though it's not really cap season yet. I love the James...
Just got notice of a Spring Sale at Top Secret Hats. Looks good as they have money off everything and Panamas are a steal (£70 to £59.50). I'm going to stock up! :D
I too am an avid Tilley fan! They are expensive but well worth it as they have a lifetime guarantee. They do just about everything - mildew resistant, washable, float, sun protection, etc. Apparently one went through an elephant 3 times and still survived (poor elephant!) The guy that invented...
I have quite a few caps. My favourite is the Stetson Mesquite which is sewn shut. It is a brown newsboy style cap and is brushed cotton and looks like leather. I also love my James Dermot caps. I can't believe how much you can tell the difference between a cheap cap and a quality one. I'm...
Interesting - you've got me thinking now! Maybe you're right. Maybe more people go for the flat cap as it's not so attention grabbing. I've seen a lot of young people on the streets wearing flat caps. The ones with the 8 piece caps & newsboy styles tend to be a bit more on the adventurous side -...
Well - I wasn't going to say my choice but since you have..... I went for G too!! I liked E too though! If I had to go for the flat cap design I think I'd go for A.:D
Top Secret Hats has a poll on for their new tweed caps. I don't want to influence anyone else's choice but I love one of them and I want everyone to vote! I can't help feeling that the flat cap style is winning because the younger generation are voting. I love the James Dermot caps and really...
I assume you bought the hats from Christys direct, not Top Secret Hats. I still find the service at Top Secret Hats (nee Hornets Hats) to be top shelf. Christys now sells direct so is a separate company to Top Secret Hats. For future reference, Top Secret Hats is cheaper than Christys!
I'm in the UK and I do think there is a very slow pick up with the wearing of Fedoras. Celebrities such as Johnny Depp & Jude Law always help the cause! It is more obvious in the cities where people tend to be more confident with their fashion statements!
I agree Tone. It will also rule out Christys ignoring the customisations which (from what I've seen on here) seems to happen a lot! I'm slightly nervous that my excitement will be dashed if the new hat is not up to my expectations (crown & brim)!
